Woman arrested after sending over 200 fan letters to rocker

At first I thought 200 was harmless but now that I've read that it was 200 in a week and 30,000 emails up to September I think she needs to be put on a rocket to the moon.

You don't see anything wrong with sending 209 letters to a single addressee over the course of 7 days? That's almost 30 letters per day. That's not normal "fan mail." That's bats#it insane and tantamount to harassment.

But 200 letters in a week? He's probably just tired of cleaning out his post box every day.

The poor women needs psychiatric help.

This is the same woman who was arrested in September this year for sending 30,000 fan letters (e-mails) to Atsushi Okuno.

the difference is hikkifan17, that major celebreties don't usually get 200 letters from the same person in a week. and this was after she was fined for sending 30,000 emails to him in 4 months. it's not like she sent them to his talent agent or fan club, she sent it to his house. even celebrities are entitled to privacy at home. plus she was asked to stop. if you are a true fan, you wouldn't want to do anything to hurt the one you admire.

People are weird. What might be a better punishment, since she likes to write, have her write letters to children who are in a hospital. Have her write political letters to get stuff done! There is such a need for a person with such passion for writing! Given that, 30,000 emails in one week! She needs a cat! Something that will both distract her and keep her up at the oddest of hours. She can create an account for her cat, and send the cat 30 thousand emails.

She has a problem but what I want to know is how she moistens all those stamps. Must drink a lot of water.

It is a given that this woman is obsessive and creepy but can sending over 200 fan letters in a week really be considered "stalking"? I just don't see the threat in that. She isn't standing outside his house every day or following him from place to place. Even the tens of thousands of emails since 2012 is not in itself threatening. I have to think that there must be more to this story. There must have been something in the emails and letters that was threatening to Okuno. I think this story leaves out the logical question of the content of the correspondence. Where is the reporting on that?

I don´t see sending letters by mail is "stalking" either, and if spam in the Mailbox is a crime now, could accuse Dominos Pizza and similar chain shops of stalking me.

And since she is paying the postage for this, this crime will eventually punish itself. Really, this is an over-reaction.

I agree with Wolfpack. I don't see it as "stalking" either, with only the information given in this story. Yes, it is quite annoying to receive that many letters and emails, but that in and of itself doesn't seem threatening. There really must have been something threatening in the content.

They needed their first arrest, funny its a woman not a man considering that all stalking crimes and follow up attacks have been committed my men in Japan. I am also wondering how many mails is considered stalking, or to who exactly these mails shouldn't be addressed to, but again laws here are vague enough so that cops make the choices weather they arrest you or not!

If she's not making threats against the guy and only making statements about how cool or great he is without getting pervy then what's the problem?!? You become a star to be left alone? If she's sending the letters and e-mails to a public reply address then sorry Poseur Rocker Boy, SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP or stay the hell out of the kitchen if you can't stand the heat (of the lights and fame). I can sort of understand the uniqueness & fascination with Japanese Rockers,

I saw the Osaka Rockers: Babylon Breakers, Otonana Trio, Ripper, and SinGerbera when they toured Texas in October.

And as anticipated and fascinated as I was to see them perform live, I certainly couldnt imagine flooding their Fan Mail with 209 Letters in just 7 Days asking "When are y'all coming back to Houston?" - over and over again.

She is very sure of herself, has no illusions whatsoever. Hehe

Okuno is on wheel chair, the article revealed. This woman;s e-mails and letters must be disrupting his business and daily life. She needs some kind of psychiatric care in a nut house hospital. Imagine a crippled man who has to dig around e-mails to find work relaqted e-mails and letters.

Shes needs to be evaluated. There is a difference in being a fan and being a stalker, and she definitely crossed the line.

First off, it wasn't 200 emails, it was 200 letters... in less than a week. The emails total more than 30,000 in a short period. The bottom line is that she was ordered, from a previous arrest, to cease and desist and she did not obey the law.

You honestly can't understand the difference between mass emails from Dominos or Rakuten or whatever to tens of thousands of people and one person declaring him/herself the 'ultimate fan' and targeting a specific person? At the very least it's harassment, and like I said she broke the cease and desist order, so it's not that big an overreaction at all.

Why didn't she tell them she was drunk and couldn't remember? She could just explain the meant to only write the one, but kept forgetting writing the letter, so she kept writing one more.
