A 32-year-old unemployed woman was arrested after she threatened a police officer in a koban (police box) with a knife in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 5:25 p.m. Saturday at the koban in Aoba Ward, Fuji TV reported. Police said that when the woman, later identified as Maki Aizawa, entered the koban, the knife was wrapped in a towel. She was subdued by police officers and no one was injured.
Police said she was rambling as she approached the officer and quoted her later as saying she wanted to be arrested.

IMO: Unfortunate woman probably got driven to her wits end, and had no one fair and helping to turn to, in a repressive, boxed in , keg powder generating social atmosphere with a fastback to the gendarme.

Japan has a mental health system? Weird! I didn't think they had one. I have been diagnosed with Mild Depression by U.S. When I went to a Dr. in Japan they said nothing was wrong with me. A family member of mine has some mental issues (She cant throw anything away, and has to keep everything, always full of stress for no reason, can't properly communicate thoughts/feelings, has depression)and when she went to the Dr, the Dr. just said nothing is wrong with you, your husband is the problem.
