Police in Omiya, Saitama Prefecture, said Saturday they have arrested a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of murder after she beat her 21-year-old boyfriend to death at their apartment.
According to police, Momoko Yamazaki, who works at a bar, punched her boyfriend, Masafumi Kimura, with whom she lived, in the face with her fist as he slept after she returned home from shopping at around 1:10 a.m. Friday. She then went to bed.
Yamazaki told police that when she woke up at around 5 p.m. Friday, Kimura was unconscious, so she called her mother who came over at 5:45 p.m. Yamazaki's mother then called 119. Kimura was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Yamazaki was quoted by police as saying she got angry because Kimura had locked her out.

My ex hit me over the head with a beer stein when I suggested she might have a drinking problem. Many years later I still remember the combo of blood and beer running down my face as I quickly exited the rather fancy restaurant.

It's possible with lots of bad luck, but what I'd find weird is that a guy asleep doesn't wake up after the punch and tries to fight back...That's what I find weird. But well, in Saitama and with lots of shochu....
There are ways, but my understanding is he locked her out ealier in the evening, so she went shopping and when she was back at 1 am he's let het in.
That's daily life in Japanese cities. That's not really the point.

I guess they slept in different bedrooms like that author in the other article said was good for you. He had the soundest sleep of his life.

Some women really do have a lot of malice and can sure hold a grudge and can be over the smallest of things, in some cases nothing. Well poor woman, she's just ruined her life!! So sad for the guy and his family. Have to know when to take a step back; life isn't all about one person.

Kills boyfriend. Goes to sleep. Wakes up. He's still dead. Calls mom...

Attacking a sleeping person has to be the most cowardly, disgusting things any person can do.

She SAID she punched him. If she said she hit him with the golf club stored behind the front door, would that result in an upgrade?
Or unless he rented an 'aunt' and 'uncle' to cry for him in court.

This is where sexual equality should come into play.

My ex got violent with me, hurt herself and then called the police. Guess what she told them!! (Hint: Not what really happened)

There are quite few things in this scenario that don't add up. Shopping until 1am? Sleeping for 16 hours? One punch in the face killed him? She was locked out, but she got in the house while he was sleeping? There is a lot more to this story because these sound like a bunch of lies to me..

Hmm. That's interestingly freaky. DV can happen on both sides. Her's resulted in death for the victim. There is a lot of mental health and psychological issues that will need to be focused on in Japan, but we all know how that's gonna work.

Wait - she went to bed at 1:10 AM and woke up at 5:00 PM? That's about 16 hours - about two-days worth for me, and I sleep a lot. She'll have a hell of a time adjusting her RPM cycle to jail time.

Momoko needs my ex-wife7s lawyer. Then she would claim that the boyfriend had committed DV and that she was only upset that he was with another woman. Then the judge would say Momoko must be right because she is smaller and weighs less than the boyfriend. Finally she would cry in the court and the boyfriend would be forgotten unless he had parents who would come and also cry in the court.

@true haaa, these are called 'king hits' in oz although they have recently been rebranded as coward punches, which is more accurate. From what I have seen most victims die from hitting the ground.
In this case he apparently died from the punch itself, which is weird. Did she punch him in the temple? Anyway sad story. Never date dragons guys.

Momoko sounds like she has a hell of punch. RIP dude.

The talk is always about abusive husbands, but abusive wives are much worse, simply because the husbands/boyfriends get little support or sympathy. A guy can always leave, but what if there are kids? How can he walk out and leave his kids alone with a violent mother?
Imagine waking up to a punch in the face. (Though apparently, this guy didn't.)

Hell hath no fury etc.....

Have been several cases of " one punch" deaths in Australia and NZ in recent years... probably in other countries as well. Powerful hits from behind or in front have caused deaths. In most reported cases the victim had no idea who their attacker was. Quite disgusting and cowardly actually.
ThePBot
One Punch...Woman? Well, apparently, he didn't lock her out well enough.
Laguna
Damn. With a girlfriend like that, he's better off dead.
Yubaru
She was doing a Luke Cage impression?. Oh and the shopping, she works at a bar, maybe she was out looking to "buy" some guy and came home frustrated. "Hell hath no fury.......
Read much?

if you punch somebody at the throat, one fatal bow is all you need

So how did she get in if he locked her out? Who goes shopping that late? How many times did she punch him? And does she have metal fists?
