Police in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, have arrested a 68-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder after she stabbed a man in his 50s in a department store on Thursday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 5 p.m. in the book section in the basement first floor of Kanazawa M’Za department store, Fuji TV reported. Police said the suspect, Kiko Ota, stabbed the man in the back with a 15-cm-long knife.
Store staff detained the woman until police arrived. Police said the man was taken to hospital and that his wound was not life-threatening.
Police said Ota and the man did not know each other and that the woman apparently stabbed him at random. However, she has denied intent to kill, police said.

At a bar I overhead someone talking about a "biddy" trying to instigate a confrontation inside a burger joint with anyone....be careful, as my Japanese wife said, some are on the brink of total breakdown during this season.

Likely a case for a psychiatrist. Something is wrong inside the brain of this woman. Mentally seriously disturbed.

She’s a real loon. Definitely send her to the slammer. With a long knife, I’m sure there was some intent to kill. Who is she fooling?

She shall be sent to the nick.

Either she wants to be sent to prison or there are some serious mental health problems affecting this old biddy.

After 68 years this is what her life culminated to... Her purpose in life? Revenge for her previous life?

Whatever that crazy beast all comes through with, but at least the 15cm knife’s length is not allowed in public.

Why was she carrying a knife anyway? Not the usual I just wanted to see what it was like to kill someone? Lock up her up.

She stabbed him with a knife but there was no intent to kill. Some people are just evil.
