Police in Iwamizawa City, Hokkaido, have arrested a 36-year-old unemployed woman on suspicion of stealing a cash card from an official of the soccer club her daughter belongs to, and using it to withdraw 320,000 yen from an ATM.

According to police, the woman is suspected of stealing the cash from an ATM at a credit union branch on November 12, using a cash card in someone else's name, that she had obtained illegally, NTV reported.

A soccer club official, whose child is a teammate of the suspect’s daughter, reported that the cash card had been used.

The woman, who was identified after an analysis of security camera footage taken at the ATM, was quoted by police as saying, "I stole the card because I didn't have any money."

The police are investigating how she obtained the cash card.

Yep, parents feeling the pressure of inflation more than most, as more hungry mouths to feed unlike the elderly who don't eat much!

Well, THAT’s a reasonable excuse, I think you should let her go.
