Police have arrested a woman in Saitama Prefecture on suspicion of murdering her 3-year-old daughter.
According to police, 34-year-old Niina Narita was arrested for the murder of her youngest daughter, Uta, at her home in Tokorozawa on Tuesday afternoon. TBS reported that Narita, who lived with her husband and two daughters, contacted emergency services to report that she had strangled her daughter to death. Paramedics took Uta to a nearby hospital where she was confirmed dead.
Police say Narita was home alone with Uta at the time of the incident. Narita has confessed to the murder, but gave no motive, TBS quoted police as saying.

Saitama...

Incredibly sad story indeed! May the little one rest in peace.

@cornbread1 are you commenting about a different story...? Having a child at 31 hardly makes her a child or even young for that matter.

There is sometimes more to these stories than meets the eye. For example, the daughter might have been severely physically or mentally challenged, and the mother could not imagine even a slightly happy life for her daughter if she grew up. Not that that would justify the act...

Pozzy I think cornbread1 was referring to her emotional ago rather then her physical age.

Speechless!!! RIP poor girl!

"Narita has confessed to the murder, but gave no motives" yea because there is no reason for murdering your own child.

The headline is wrong! She is not a 'mother'! It should read, Monster strangles three-year-old daughter. I get so sick of reading this kind of article that, I barely have any comments left!

So sad...I can't believe that mother could murder her daughter...

OK, I've been following JT for a few years now and I always noticed the comments regarding "Saitama". I chalked it up to coincidence, but lately I have to admit Saitama experiences prolicide much more often than other areas of Japan. What's the deal with Saitama?

This is so sad, this is the 3rd headline especially out of Saitama... of mother's killing their children. I swear its in the water. And she possibly killed her once precious child for stupid reasons. Honestly people like this shouldn't reproduce, I feel bad for her husband and other children who have to deal with the idea of their mother being a killer. I hope little Uta rests in peace. And that they deal with her mother soon.

If I was the judge she can get sterilize, also never to touch a kid again and walk out jail free or get 30 years in jail.

These people have no business having kids

Don't worry, she'll be haunted by Uta's spirit for years on end

The funny thing is, as far as I have been able to deduce in any event, the rest of Japan doesn't regard Saitama as the hotbed of twisted deviant activity that the gaijin community seems to see it for. Anyone on this site ever hear anything contrary to that?

Wonder how old the other daughter is? You can make a good horror movie just from the results googling death and Saitama.

Mom of the Day award is in, and we're back at Saitama no less! Poor little girl!

Yet another prolicide...the result when children are attempting to raise children.
