Police in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, have arrested a 28-year-old unemployed woman on suspicion of abusing her five-year-old daughter.
According to police, Yuka Watanabe beat her daughter several times with a gardening rod at their home at around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sankei Shimbun reported. On Monday, Watanabe took her daughter to hospital where doctors notified a child welfare center about a case of possible abuse.
Police said the girl suffered injuries to her arms and buttocks. Doctors said her injuries will require about two weeks to heal.
Police quoted Watanabe as saying she lost her temper because her daughter didn’t keep a promise.

Another unemployed, stressed out mother that is in dire need of help from the government if she’s truly alone trying to survive and take care of a child.

Another one for the child abuser collection of Japan.

Deplorable. Where is the father and extended family members?

Children should have absolutely nothing to dread at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon.
Do the hustle
Her five year old daughter didn’t keep a promise so she beat her with a gardening rod (whatever that is). An eye for an eye!

Another sad news story, at least the girl will recover in this case.
I don't see the constant need to publish names in this country. In the West names are normally suppressed to protect the victim's privacy.

We notice a trend. "Unemployed" seems to be the status we see very often in these cases. These woman need to find SOMETHING to relieve their stress...starting with a Job.

Sad, but its nice to see a mother being charged with child abuse in the news, because when its a man or a father, the "men can't take care of kids" crowd gets all excited and tries to use it as evidence that shared custody is a bad idea in Japan.

Wow, that sounds like serious violence. A mother from hell.

**WOW! Police said the girl suffered injuries to her arms and buttocks. Doctors said her injuries will require about two weeks to heal. Police said Yuka Watanabe lost her temper because her daughter didn’t keep a promise. **The mother should be arrested for not keeping her promise to provide and care for her daughter. The daughter will be mentally damaged for life, she might forgive her mom, but she will never forget it what she did. Yuka best remember she will get old one day, and when she dying alone she will have those days to reflect on the abuse and beatings she gave to her daughter.

Another unemployed, stressed out mother that is in dire need of help from the government if she’s truly alone trying to survive and take care of a child. Perhaps the mother is stressed out, but does she really expect a 5 year old to keep a promise. Thats like asking a fox to watch the hen house. Regardless of how much stress she is under being unemployed and perhaps with no help, still it doesn't warrant beating your child and asking a 5 year old to keep a promise.

How do you know all that? The article did not give any details about the mothers situation.

Third case since Monday of a Japanese mother abusing her child? Luckily this child isn’t dead.
scumbag needs to rot in prison until she is unable to have children, then released

Shame on you, JAPAN! You’re failing the next generation.
