Police in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, said Thursday they have arrested a 66-year-old woman on suspicion of killing her 92-year-old mother-in-law at their home in June.
Police said the suspect, Junko Sugiyama, has admitted to the charge. She is accused of beating Hisae Sugiyama with a stick at around 11 a.m. on June 16. Hisae was taken to hospital where she died due to internal bleeding at around 5 p.m. the same day.
Police said Sugiyama had called 119 at around 4:20 p.m. and said her mother-in-law was lying on the kitchen floor and not moving.
Doctors at the hospital found many bruises on the victim’s body and notified police.
At the time of the incident, Sugiyama's husband was also home. However, he was sick and in bed in his second-floor bedroom. He told police he did not hear anything out of the ordinary.
Police said Hisae had been living in a nursing home for the past four years but sometimes came back to her son’s place for a visit. On this occasion, she had been staying in the house for a few days.

This is a really sad story a women 92 years of age who has lived some many years & experienced many changes in life is beaten to death by a family member. If she was a nagging mother in law just suck it up why kill her it's not gonna make your life any better. Now comes prison time for Junko.
