So, today's family murder has a real twist. The main difference with this one is, she had been diagnosed with mental illness prior to the murder instead of after.

How hard is it to commit someone in Japan? In the U.S., I believe it takes at least two people, one being a doctor, and maybe just the doctor if there is a risk of harm to one's self or another. I recall it is a slippery slope though. Once committed, there are six month evaluations before one can be released, but hospitals generally want to keep paying customers....
