Police in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture, have arrested a 42-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder after she stabbed a 34-year-old woman as she walked along a street.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 5:25 p.m. on Saturday. Kyodo News reported that a pedestrian called 110 and said that a woman had stabbed another woman after an argument.
Police rushed to the scene and found the victim, a company employee from Tokyo, lying on the sidewalk, bleeding from a knife wound to the stomach. She was taken to hospital where doctors said Sunday her wound was not life-threatening.
The suspect, Suzue Higaki, a part-time worker of no fixed address, was still at the scene, with a knife, and was arrested. Police said she has denied the charge and quoted her as saying, “I don’t know whether I did it or not”
Police said they are investigating the relationship between the two women and will wait until the victim recovers before questioning her.

Perhaps she had been in trouble before and a confession got her in trouble, at this point not saying anything and letting them prove it was best to say is a lesson learned for her. This is rare I think two women my guess would be there is two things that we are not hearing about money or perhaps someone fooling around with a wife husband or bf. Last but not least it could be simply women jealousy! After all the Police said they are investigating the relationship between the two women and will wait until the victim recovers before questioning her.

In Japan, what does this mean :
Homeless, or simply someone who rents their accommodation ?

Do these situations play out in the same awful fashion as the re-dramatization videos they play on TV? Where the victim just kind of stands there shocked and takes it... Falling to the ground in dramatic fashion without even attempting to shove the stabber? That's how I picture it every time I hear about these crimes involving strangers where people seem to get into crazy acts of random violence.
If someone I didn't know came over to me with a knife, yelling, I'd kick him straight in the chest. Swing my bag like a mace and hope the battery pack clocks him. It's about time we get a story about someone who fends off a potential stabber.

She may have just lost it. Blacked out. Too much to drink. Who knows. But it happens sometimes.
