Woman attacks 8-year-old girl with scissors in supermarket parking lot

Sounds strange... Why only a "5-mm gash" and why is it below the knee? I remember a case some years ago when a child claimed to have been attacked and police eventually found out that it was a self-inflicted wound and that the child wanted the parents to pay more attention to him/her. Just a thought...

Lucky it was only a 5mm cut, and not a kidnapping. Thought there was a law in Japan about leaving kids unattended in cars.

Japan doesn't have a law about kids in cars. If they do then no one follows it. Besides, if 6 year olds can travel on trains to and from school every day by themselves, an 8 year old can sit in the back seat of a car for 5 minutes while their mum is in the store.

Was she pissed off at the car's idling?

@therougou prints to prove there was a lady or if the girl did it to herself! And YES it is careless to leave you kids in the car. Just cause your mom did it 30 years ago, it doesn't mean it was any less careless. Your parents took a risk and that is the issue. Bad things can happen anytime and the smart thing to do is avoid helping them to happen.

Seems Frank may have a point there, but there was no mention of the scissors at the scene cause I am sure they would have been processed for prints. It is possible the girl could have been a target of revenge against the mother. Guess the truth will come out soon enough. Parents must be careful with what shows the kids watch...kids are like sponges and may absorb the wrong ideas.

Blame the crazy woman not the parents for leaving the kid (8 years old) in the car. In the car was probably a safer place if the door was locked, so if anything "a reason to lock your doors", then again that doesn't work since none of that prevents a crazy woman with scissors from going out in the first place to stab people, if not the girl in the car, some other person on the street/train/station. Hope the police catch this lady.

I can't get my head around that she was stubbed below the knee, its an odd angle, but I could understand if she was stabbed in her thigh, Iam sure the girl was sitting on the seat this would be the largest area to stub, unless the little girl jumped up and started to fight or struggle with this loon, then possible then it might explain the stubbing below the knee. I hope she gets some sort of concealing for this attack.

When I was a kid, I used to sit in the car while my mom was shopping, but all that changed. Because of kidnappings, hot car deaths, etc., small kids weren't left in cars anymore!

The girl was old enough to be left in the car. You should always lock the doors to be safe, though.
