I guess you could say that she was hungry for justice :)

Amazing she has such strong teeth at her age.

-12 ( +6 / -18 )

Bravo! for the lady!

18 ( +19 / -1 )

I am surprised the woman was not arrested for assault, this being Japan. Oh, well, give it time.

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

A police spokesman refused to give details about the fate of the detached digit or whether prints had been taken in a bid to trace the attacker.

but why?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Dayum! This woman is hard core!

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Justice served! No judge, no jury, no red tap, no hassle. AWESOME.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

I hope my daughter does not do this! She is only 4 years old but if her big brother picks on her and makes her cry, she bites him right in his ass!! How can I keep this news away from my little girl when I AM NEWS JUNKY!!

-15 ( +5 / -20 )

Not only she bit the rat's finger off, she got her bag back! Well done, lady!

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Coulda been worse for the guy.

5 ( +5 / -1 )

Way to go, grandma!

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Well done this plucky lady. The police probably didnt comment because they hadn`t considered taking prints from the digit until the reporter asked the question. However I do note a discrepancy in the reporting:" one finger missing—after **the intended victim chomped off his pinkie" and further on in the report " suspect had one of his fingers partially bitten off"**

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Not one for dismemberment, but in this case I'd say it was pretty well deserved. Maybe it'll even teach these bag-snatchers a lesson.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

you can also say that she "took a bite out of crime."

10 ( +12 / -2 )

The perp said not a word throughout, even when his finger was being bitten off, I read. He's going to hurting now. She lost one of her two top front teeth apparently. Hate to think what her dental bill will be...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Great stuff, serves the dude right!! I would do the same...hehehehe

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Moral of this story is that you should always have strong, healthy teeth, because you never know when you'll need to bite someone's finger off.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

he shouldn't have given her the finger :p

5 ( +5 / -0 )

This womans dentist needs to use her as a poster girl.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Ha-ha, yeah, teaches him some manners for giving her the finger as he rode away!!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I saw that on TV... love it! Spunky lady!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Good on her for refusing to be a victim, but she put herself in danger over a handbag and its contents! Also what if this man had some kind of blood-transmitted disease, she was obviously bleeding too as she lost a tooth, not at all safe!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Talk about leaving fingerprints at a crime scene...

5 ( +5 / -0 )

One has to think that this guy will at some point need to get some medical assistance, so hopefully - as I hold my breath - the Jcops will alert all clinics, hospitals and pharmacies in the general area to be on the lookout for such an injury.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

If she had a gun...

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Pri_k not your finger as you pluck it off...

Funny that you have to edit Shakespeare in order to post on JT...

5 ( +4 / -0 )

This woman is actually lucky to be alive!! Many of these scum purse snatchers carry KNIVES! Screw drivers! Etc.. She could have been easily over powered and killed by this guy desperate for cash up there in Hokkaido!

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Tosa obaasan Huhhh OMG.

Well, a bit of scary but I am glad she was able to get her property back without being wounded by the snatcher. Probably her hard earn money. On the positive side it's good to see victims fight back.

Bite wound gets infected, the story is not over yet.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Finally some news that brought a smile to my face.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Shouldn't be hard for the police to finger the criminal...

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Let's hope they have his prints on file.

I am surprised the woman was not arrested for assault

Assault and pepper.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Good thing he wasn't a flasher....

6 ( +7 / -1 )

With the missing pinkie finger, that jerk will now look like an instant Yakuza member.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Good for her!

The crook is lucky, in some countries he would have lost a lot more than just a piece of finger for his crime.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

If she had a gun...

If he had had a gun...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I can't quite put my finger on this one. Good job but a bit "kitanai". I hope he does not have AIDS.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Makes me want to sing 小指の重いで (koyubi no omoide) the next time I go to karaoke.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Good for this women! I am hoping she is healthy and didn't catch anything from that scumbag. I hope his finger gets infected, rots and causes him great amounts of pain.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

way to go lady!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

They shouldn't have any problem working up a DNA evidence package on the perp. Plenty of DNA to work with in this case!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Gives new meaning to yubitsume doesn't it?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Should have bit lower..

I missed it at first too, but it say that she bit the top third off. So the finger was only partially gone.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Good job! The missing finger will make this chinpira look like a real Yak I guess.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Wow some strong jaws that girl must have lol. Lesson to all would be bag snatchers. Keep your fingers to yourself or you might loose them, literally!!
