I was carrying out a garbage bag to the curb back when I was 14 and a thin piece of glass sticking out slashed my leg. I didn't notice until a minute later from the blood running down my leg. Because people get off trains too. Unless people like having blades for corners on their bags, then this was targeted. If the trains are so packed then the creep wouldn't have the room to carryout the offense.

A slash 2 cm deep is nowhere near the bone at the upper back of the thigh. Could be painful to sit down if you're not careful, though.

I think it's more likely that there was something in or between the seat cushions where she was sitting.

We've had incidents before of people putting needles and razor blades in food packaging.
