A 40-year-old woman was cut on her thigh while riding a train in Tokyo on Monday.
According to police, the woman got off the Yamanote line train at JR Osaki Station in Shinagawa Ward at around 9 a.m. and noticed she was bleeding from a cut on her left upper thigh, Fuji TV reported. She notified a station employee who called police.
The woman was taken to hospital where a doctor said the 2-cm-deep wound will take about three weeks to heal.
Police said the wound was about 10 cms long, going across from the back of the woman's left thigh just above her pantyhose. The woman told police she didn't feel anything at the time and that someone must have put a blade up her dress and cut her just as she was leaving the train.

There's some sick bastards out there.

So, there's a knife carrying maniac on the train system in Tokyo-not very reassuring for the hordes of daily commuters.....

So the sickos are not content with groping women and filming up their skirts; they have to cause them physical injury and harm as well??
And she didn't feel getting cut? Wow!

Japanese in a crowded peak-time train are usually so uncaring to the others, that it could be anything...

When was the last time you got off the train with a 20x100mm gash in your leg?
papigiulio
2 cm deep and only three weeks to heal? sjeesh 2 cm is almost nearing the bone, id imagine that take longer to heal.

Always be alert during your commutes.

You wouldn't if it was a razor blade or most likely a scalpal if it's done with a quick slash. I was carrying out a garbage bag to the curb back when I was 14 and a thin piece of glass sticking out slashed my leg. I didn't notice until a minute later from the blood running down my leg. Probably works in the health care industry.

Man, if this happens again, it might start causing panic. On these tight trains during rush hour, it is hard to even move so anything could happen out of one's control.

Woman cut by blade on train in Tokyo? No. Woman cut by man (most likely) with blade on train in Tokyo.
Thunderbird
Hey as far as I can remember the trains in Tokyo are packed as hell. What makes her think somebody deliberately cut her with a blade?
Jalapeno
Gonna be hard to catch this one. Hope it's not the start of some disturbing trend.
weisse
Because people get off trains too. Unless people like having blades for corners on their bags, then this was targeted. If the trains are so packed then the creep wouldn't have the room to carryout the offense.

Maybe the same idiot that cut up those girls at Summerland last summer.

How thin are YOUR thighs? You must be what I call a "toothpick leg" person.
A slash 2 cm deep is nowhere near the bone at the upper back of the thigh. Could be painful to sit down if you're not careful, though.

Reckon J pervs are sending us a (not so) subliminal message: let us take upskirt pix, steal the odd undies otherwise cities will turn into a bloodbath.
Terrifying! I say let them do what they want if it saves lives. Case closed. Pheeew!

Again??

I hope police officers or commuters will catch that Sicko bastard soon.

After the pool, now the train?

I think it's more likely that there was something in or between the seat cushions where she was sitting.
We've had incidents before of people putting needles and razor blades in food packaging.
Check around where she was sitting.

@ fizzbit and aly - When I was a kid. I was playing with my friends and I slid on my stomach, feet first, down the hood of a VW bug. On the way home one of my friends asked what happened to my leg, and I took a look. My left leg was laid open to the bone, and I never felt a thing.
Aly Rustom
Yeah fair enough.
Oww. Hope it didn't leave a scar.
FizzBit
Checking....Yep, still there. lol
