The bodies of a woman in her 80s and her 47-year-old daughter have been found in separate residences in Tokyo, in what police believe was a murder-suicide.
According to police, at around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, police visited the apartment of Yoko Uesugi, 47, a clerical worker, in Nakajuku, Itabashi Ward. There, they found her lying lifeless on her bed, Fuji TV reported.
The discovery came after the body of her mother, who was in her 80s, was found in the bathroom of her home about 300 meters away. Police said she had apparently hanged herself and that there was a note nearby, which said: "I killed my daughter and now I am going to die."
Police said the elderly woman managed a legal office and that on Tuesday, she had requested a male employee to come to her house the next morning. She said the house key would be in her mailbox. When the man came over at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, he discovered the body and called 110.
Police then went to her daughter's apartment, but have not yet released any details on how she died.

Greedy, horrible old woman. Hope she rots in hell. Not only did she decide to murder her daughter, but she then plays a man to come and find the bodies.

Isn't it usually the other way around? Old, frail and sick mother murdered by daughter to escape having to take care of her. This is just plain weird.

nakanoguy01, I was thinking the same thing. It seems unusual for the older person to kill the younger person. Especially at another location.

JT: title typo. It has to be Mother, Daughter found dead and not Woman, Daughter. it's a pair. Both are specific kinds of woman so to be both general and specific at the same time is a grammar error. Woman here means mother specifically already since you said daughter, so just say mother and it then isn't confusing. Otherwise the title would be simply be Women found dead. HTH
