Woman found strangled in Tokyo hotel after suspect turns himself in

A woman was discovered strangled to death at a hotel in Ikebukuro on Monday night, police said Tuesday, adding that they have arrested a man who is believed to have been her boyfriend and who gave himself up to police.

At around 8:20 p.m., the suspect, identified as Hiroshi Ima, 20, a resident of Saitama, walked into the Urawa police station and said he had killed a woman he was with at a hotel in Ikebukuro.

At the hotel, authorities found the body of a 19-year-old woman -- also a resident of Saitama City -- lying face up on the bed with marks around her neck indicating she had been strangled to death.

Ima was quoted by police as saying: "We were just talking, but things got out of control and I strangled her."

Yeesh. What got out of control?! Bad excuse... but hey he turned himself in and confessed. Just hope he slips on a waxed floor and accidently hits his head.

It's called, a " Crime Of Passion " things, emotions, & anger heat up. After realzing what he had done, testerone levels dropped he went to the police to face up to his crime. Sad for the victim. I hope she wasn't pregnant. Since they were arguing about something in their relationship.

At least they know to turn themselves in...

Dumb kid that doesn't know how to control his anger

You made the adult cut kid. More than likely being 20, turning himself in and manslaughter will get him a year or two in the slammer, if that... Shocking but thats the way it works here. He may even pull the same stunt again down the road.... and naturally, it was a love hotel.

if you turn yourself in - it shows post homicidal remorse - courts are usually more lenient on the sentencing.

Japan society does not make sense to me much less their judicial system.

noirgaijin - Exactly! What is it that make so many people choose murder or suicide as the answer to problems? It only makes things worse.

the "gomenasai-sumimasen" culture on a higher scale.

Yeesh. What got out of control?!

They could have been arguing or doing something else. And if they weren't arguing, it isn't really a big stretch to figure out what got out of control.

What the crap is that supposed to mean? Are you aware that most murders take place in the home? Do you have something negative to say about homes then?

It just so happens that the most common activity at love hotels is making love. Murders happen, but far less than in houses! Go to love hotels if you value your life!

mistwizard, youre so right.

Yeah, my first choice for a location to have an argument is a "love hotel". And then the argument turns into murder. The irony is just too much.
