A 52-year-old woman was stabbed in the back, while at work at a supermarket in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, police said Monday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 3 p.m. on Sunday at the supermarket in Miyamae Ward.
The suspect, identified as Yuki Yamagishi, 21, fled the scene, but was arrested after customers and shop employees chased her and caught her about 300 meters from the supermarket, Fuji TV reported.
The victim suffered serious injuries that will take two weeks to heal, police said.
Yamagishi was quoted by police as saying she stabbed the woman with a knife she carried, but has so far provided no motive for the crime, Fuji TV reported.

Silly comments don't provide answers to questions that actually have no answer. Just hope the lady who was injured makes a full recovery, and that she isn't fearful for her safety in the future.
