A 47-year-old woman was found dead in her car, while her 11-year-old son was found unconscious in the car in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, police said Monday.

According to police, both the woman and the boy had stab wounds to their abdomens. TBS reported that the mother and son were found in their car at around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday. The boy, who later regained consciousness, told police his mother had stabbed him.

Police said the woman was collapsed in the back seat of the vehicle and holding a knife when she and her son were discovered. The woman was confirmed dead at the scene, while the boy's wounds are not life-threatening, police said.

Suicide? Robbery? Homicide?

Glad the mom died. What a looser. The child survived, that is the good news.

Glad that the boy survived ...

These are such heartbreaking stories to read. I believe the mother was extremely selfish for trying to take her son with her to the "other world" but I can't imagine the anguish she must have gone through stabbing her own son beforehand. (Same for the son receiving the stabbing.)

How do we know for sure that the mom did it? The boy was found alive with "non-life threatening wounds" ...just saying

@Cortes

Glad the mom died

Really, really? Because that's a very sad way to be glad, if it's true.

But it's not really true, is it?

Read The Article... Chances are the kid isn't lying.

A good ending for once. Hope the little boy makes a full recovery.

Glad the boy survived but I want to hear the mother's motive which we probably will never hear.

Another day in Japan another family murder-suicide! Luckily this kid lived, but he has to live with the knowledge that his mother tried to kill him and then killed herself. The streets of Japan are pretty safe, but the danger lays at home.

@Cortes Elijah

Glad the mom died. What a looser.

How extremely compassionate of you !

The child survived, that is the good news.

...do you think this child is going to grow up "normally" knowing his mother committed suicide ? (IF that really is the case...).

I hope the boy has a loving aunt, uncle, or grandma that can treat him with love, kindness, and respect.

I do hope ... BUT , I doubt it in Japan

Why... why so many of these family suicides in Japan? In a country with so much why so little hope for some?

What an evil, evil witch to try and kill your own 11 year old child. Hope she rots for eternity. And hope this young boy can one day put this horror behind him..but unlikely.

Because they have no idea how good they actually have it, and little concept of how precious life is. Their frame of reference is too small. Go stay in Africa for a while. They will soon see how rich and plentiful their lives actually are.

I hope the boy has a loving aunt, uncle, or grandma that can treat him with love, kindness, and respect. What about a loving father?

Because they have no idea how good they actually have it,

You don't know her situation at all. Depression is a mental illness and as FightingViking says, how about showing a little compassion.

The expression 'safety Japan' does not seem to apply to families... Very sad news.

You'll have to explain that logic.

I don't buy the "Japan is the safest most peaceful country" anymore. yes you won't worry about getting robbed by strangers however you can be brutally killed by your own relatives , family or people that is close to you.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Are you trying to say that there are countries where this can't happen?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I am sick of this kind of news. Japanese government should do something about it. We've seen abenomics on TV almost everyday, but I've never seen any (life-is-important) campaign from the government. I think there are so many hopeless Japanese people here right now. And because they are hopeless, they think killing their children, parents or friends is the best way to get rid of this hopelessness.

This is a nightmare for the boy, but I hope he could forget this tragedy and live his life happily.

Noypitaku,

So, your logic goes like this. Japan is no longer the safest because my relatives can kill me, brutally. Because others(very limited amount) killed someone in their family, so will my family? Funny!

Then, where would be the safest country found at? Tell me.
