Woman gets 10 years in prison for hiring 3 men in failed plan to kill her husband

The Tokyo District Court has sentenced a 45-year-old woman to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to commit murder after she hired three men in an unsuccessful attempt to kill her husband last year.

The court convicted Miyuki Takita, a part-time worker, of plotting with the three men, whom she met on a social networking site, to kill her husband, Kyodo News reported. In handing down the verdict, Presiding Judge Iichiro Sakata called the crime “selfish and short-sighted.”

Prosecutors said that Takita’s husband began to strictly monitor her money-spending habits after discovering she was heavily in debt. This led to Takita tweeting about her dissatisfaction and hiring the three men to orchestrate her husband’s murder.

The attempted murder occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on Aug 7 in the victim’s apartment in Adachi Ward. The suspects -- two aged 22 and one aged 19 -- entered the apartment and stabbed the man, who is in his 40s, in the chest with a knife while he slept. Takita is believed to have left the apartment door unlocked for the trio. The victim survived the attack with injuries that took a month to recover from.

The suspects, who have already been convicted of attempted murder, said they received no money either in advance or after the failed attempt.

Only ten years. Why only ten years? Should be life.

so she hired three morons to stab her husband in the chest, WHILE HE SLEPT……and they still couldn’t get the job done?

why? Did they stab him on the right side?

idiots. Lose-lose, huh? If you do that kind of job, make sure you at least get half up front. Oh well. Enjoy thug life.

She should be forced to pay them.

If she had killed him, she’d probably only get 15 years. On the positive side her money-spending habits are under control, at least for the next ten years.

10 years isn't enough. If they were successful, another life would've bitten the dust. The woman should've gotten a life sentence or more.

The stupid things money makes people do!

It is right that giving the order to murder someone is the same as committing the deed yourself.

The fact the man survived is the reason for the low sentence.

this happens when life insurance money prevails over "deep love".

she should be hanged,10 years is just a joke.

Guess she won't be spending any more money now.

Wonder how long the three guys got.

Attempted murder should carry a longer sentence than actual murder, as ‘attempted’ means you tried but were rubbish at it.

Poor husband, he’s got now only estimated 7-10 years good sleep and break, after that , maybe with an earlier release, all those four attackers will probably come again for him, because she wants it done, they have to complete if they want getting paid, and all four together of course take rage for the imprisonment and lost time.

10 Years! Are you serious? No way! Talk about a stab in the heart for a murder for hire. Life for her and at least 20 years for the dudes hired to kill.

Very fortunate for the victim that his wife was inept and unable to hire anybody that would do the job better, coincide in thinking the sentence seems to short for the crime she was trying to pull.

Short sighted and so 10 years?

Allowing her to plan better for long term by the time she turns 55.

No surprise there. The first thing I thought of was if she is so in debt how can she pay 3 hired killers? But the killers seem young and stupid, so just as well they botched the job - they wouldn't have gotten paid anyway. They'll be older and smarter (hopefully) when they get out of prison.

Jesus, just get a divorce. It's a hanko on a form away.

Divorce would have led to her being able to claim at least 1/2 of what he had left.

I feel sorry for the Guy.

I know someone whose Wife will probably want to kill him at some point, she mistakenly thinks he support's the CCP, as she's an active member of the opposition group supported/founded by Guo Wenhui. His life is Hell, and has at times confided in me, as I am an a former work-colleague of his, an outsider and have an impartial ear.... She's also apparently trying to funnel their Families monies into Guo's schemes... such as the recent Himalayan Exchange H-Coin ... previously it was G-Coin, but back then they blamed it's failure upon CCP insiders! He's trapped in a perfect storm of misinformation, so I really feel sorry for him. Divorce, isn't an option you take lightly, especially when Kids are involved, and most definitely not, here in Asia where Family ties, really matter.

Oh well she got ten years and if those guys get out they will probably want interest on that failed attempt!
