The Tokyo District Court has sentenced a 34-year-old woman to 12 years in prison for killing the 45-year-old married man with whom she had been in a relationship.
The court found Seikin Okuma guilty of murdering Kazumasa Kurobe at the apartment they shared in Chiyoda Ward last year, Fuji TV reported Saturday.
Although Kurobe was married to another woman, he and Okuma had been living together for about two years.
The court heard that Okuma, who was unemployed, called 110 at around 12:15 a.m. last Aug 10 and said she had stabbed a man in her apartment. Police rushed to the apartment and found Kurobe lying on the floor, bleeding from a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to hospital where he died about one hour later.
Okuma’s lawyer told the court that she and Kurobe got into an argument after Kurobe told her he was going on a trip with his wife. She lost her temper and stabbed him with a kitchen knife, but maintained she didn't mean to kill him.

@DaDude Most likely. Once of the office ladies at my school lives with a married man, and has for 12 years now. He goes home on the weekends to his wife and kid, and his wife knows he lives with another woman and she's supposedly okay with it. It's a bizarre situation!

Not everyone is blessed with the ability to control their emotions, not especially if her lover is going to be with another woman, even if it’s his wife. To Okuma, she is the de facto spouse. Of course she deserves to be punished but it is not first degree and she reported it herself.

I WISH I had someone that felt that passionate towards me.

Right, and you thought you would get off because of that lame excuse?

How can get away with being married but live with another woman at the same time? Maybe the husband's job had him living in a different part of Japan?

1/ Only 12 Years
2/ What did she think was gonna happen when you knife someone.

Crime of passion. At least she’s going to serve for it.

Not a love triangle! A stupidity triangle!

If he was living with her for two years, it may be that he was separated from his wife.
I would bet she wasn't thinking at all.

I read on another source that he covered his planned trip with his family as to be with friends and got found out. Either way, sorry for his tragic end.

The marriage institution is on the decline. If there is mutual consent, both spouses having multiple partners openly and “honestly” will be more accepted. It at least avoids and lessens the shock of discovery.

The price of living with the wrong kind. RIP, though!

When the murderer calls the police it does give merit of not actually wanting to murder the victim... now she will have to deal the guilt in the prison because someone could not properly teach her about adequately reacting to the situation...

Hence the term "I love you to death"
