Woman killed after argument with acquaintance in Ibaraki

Police said Sunday that a woman was stabbed to death near her apartment on Friday night, and based on statements taken from a suspect in the case, it is believed the two had gotten into an argument that escalated into violence.

Satoe Kanazawa, 29, of Hitachi City, was found with stab wounds to the chest just outside of her apartment about 11:30 p.m. on Friday. Her acquaintance, Shuji Koyama, 28, originally explained to police that he was the first one to discover the body, but later admitted to stabbing Kanazawa with a knife several times after the two had gotten into an argument, police said.

wtf? what is with all of these criminals admitting to their crimes? do Japanese police kick them in the groin until they confess or something?

Thank goodness they admit to it!

Her acquaintance... originally explained to police that he was the first one to discover the body, but later admitted to stabbing Kanazawa with a knife several times

I wonder how that conversation went.

Forced confession likely, unless he had a lot on him.

I think Japanese police rarely assault people in custody. In my experience, sleep deprivation is their preferred tool - just as effective and less likely to cause long-term injury or marks that are difficult to explain.

Actually, a lot of Japanese people have a sense of shame, resulting in many people turning themselves in and admiting what they've done.

Interesting cultural stereotyping, but I would think that if you really had a sense of shame you wouldn't be stabbing your acquaintance in the first place.

Someone should stage a murder just to see what the police do to the first person to find the "body". I am also suspicious of all these confessions.

Actually, he is more correct than you think. Police tactics notwithstanding, an admission to wrongdoing is not at all unusual. It's often about atonement and maintaining harmony within the group.

he stab her several times, only a professional killer/psycho can do that.Cases shows that a normal person can stab only once.

God forgive them, they do not know what they do.
