The woman, who suffered light injuries after she fell to the ground, got into her sister's car and they chased Miura before losing him. However, the women were able to report the license plate number and make of car to police who intercepted Miura's car about an hour later 30 kms away in Okutama.

Police said Miura, who is a NHK fee collector, had been at the pachinko parlor for nearly two hours before committing the crime. He was quoted as saying he really wanted the money.

Stealing is stupid. Stealing from these two is extra-stupid.

Police said Miura, who is a NHK fee collector So, in other words, he was already experienced in taking other people's money.

NHK fee collector maybe had no money, goes to pachinko parlor (!!!), maybe lost some people's 'fees' so snatches someone's bag.

Hmm! And who thought that NHK has no advertising?!

He really wanted the money? Well now, he will need another job and residence after he gets out of prison. He's lucky the woman wasn't seriously injured. See you in 3-5 fool!

NHK's H stands for highway robbery.

I think inshikoku is on to something. Dude probably blew his collected money at pachinko hoping to double down but ended up losing it all.

Whatever the reason, no call for stealing someone else's!

Another reason to boycott NHK. Their "collectors" are literally robbers, this one in particular.

"NHK Fee Collector". The lowest of the low.

Yet another example of why you should not be forced to hand over money to NHK. Clearly their hiring standards don't require much beyond thuggery.

Precisely why I don't trust these collector. I knew there were thieves amongst them. that's why I always tell them to send me a bill.

I guess NHK may feel disturbed by this bag thief because the awkward arrest this time would make it more easier for many people to refuse to pay the viewing fees.

Mind you, I will still continue to pay viewing fees for NHK as I am an ardent viewer of NHK TV programs. Hahah...

"Miura, who is a NHK fee collector" ..... ha, somehow that figures. Works as a goon, during the day as well as at night.

So this is what the NHK collector is doing with customer's money. The money never makes it to NHK.

People should never give money to anybody knocking at their doors. There's no way to be sure that it's even going to NHK.

I feel bad for the NHK collectors. Its really easy to not pay them like ever... I just tell them I dont have a tv, even though i do and since im foreign they just sigh and walk away. hahaha I can imagine how he felt but yeah stealing from someone like that is overkill.
