A 28-year-old unemployed woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after she stabbed her mother at their apartment in Tokyo's Arakawa Ward on Sunday.
According to police, Naomi Ota stabbed her 60-year-old mother in her right side several times with a kitchen knife after being told by her mother to "get a real job," TV Asahi reported Monday. She then called 119 to report what she had done.
Ota's mother sustained several serious puncture wounds in her liver, and was taken to the hospital where she was in a stable condition Monday.
Ota was quoted by police as saying her mother regularly pestered her about changing the way she lives and getting a job.© Japan Today
