A woman and her two children were found dead on their futons in their home in Yokohama on Tuesday morning, in what police believe may have been a murder-suicide.
At around 7:30 a.m., police received a phone call from a man living in the Asahi Ward home, reporting that he had come home from working a night shift and found his wife and two children dead. Police arrived at the scene to find Kumiko Fujihara and her two children, 7-year-old daughter Honoka and 5-year-old son Takumi, dead on their futons. All three had rope-like marks on their necks, and a thick cord was found near Kumiko's body.
Kumiko is said to have been having difficulty dealing with the people around her, police said.

the 3 have ropes marks on their neck, and the cord was found near the body... did she strangled herself to death ?

I hope the police are questioning the husband. He cannot be ruled out a suspect, unless the woman hanged herself.

It is so easy in japan to rule on suicide as the cause. I hope the police don't close the case too quickly. Having little ones myself stomping around the house it always breaks my heart to read that young ones have also been taken along for the ride if indeed it is suicide. RIP

It's possible that the man came home and found his dead wife hanging, couldn't bear to see her that way, and brought her down. This is understandable, but not smart because that makes him look suspicious.

She hung herself, then went on her futon.....ok then. Did he take her down from wherever she hung herself? Did someone else kill her and stage a suicide-like scene? Where is Horatio and his glasses.

it is easy to ruled out as a suicide because suicide is very very common in Japan. However, having the children together with them is really not right!

Normal services have resumed, sadly: more Japanese parents killing their children. There won't be any Japanese children left pretty soon. May the kids Rest in Peace, and the coward killer burn forever.

Suspicious to me.

Children should be untouchable - whether suicide or not.

Suicides ways again .
Society should not condone suicide way of life. Society should do more against this social evil of suicides via more compassion building .
There is need for more inner discipline building in people against this social evil, in cities.
There should more awareness building, on ways to overcome this social evil.

No Sir, this is not suicide. A very clever murder indeed. It is suggested that the Yokohama police should use the "Hypnotic Interrogation" method with the husband and also others in the immediate neighborhood and their work place. It is further suggested that the place of murder-suicide be examined by a Psychic person who can visualize and see the invisible and also the Aura around the victims bodies - He/She will be able to reenact the whole scene of the murder-suicide and also their aura will still be visible to him/her and can lead to the actual killer, if they were murdered. In case they were murdered than the killers Aura can help trace him very easily. Farakh Malik

Maybe the husband didn't want people to see his wife dangling from a beam and removed the body, placing it on her futon for dignity. Maybe it was him who put the children on their futons, too (if the wife didn't kill them in their sleep or put them in their futons after murdering them). It's a possibility.

Based on what was said in the article, it sounds more like just plain murder to me. Could be wrong of course, but like everyone else says, I really hope they're questioning the husband. Sounds very suspicious any way you think about it.

Rest in peace innocent children. Still haven't lived in a crime-lacking society so when it comes to choosing the lesser of two evils I would prefer living in a suicidal society than a homicidal one.

Japan is ranked 7th safest country in the whole world today, but the poor kiddies will never know that. Best wishes to the caring people around this sad story.

These circumstances definitely raise a bit of suspicion. However, as a husband, I don't think I could leave my wife swinging from the rafter while waiting for the authorities to come over and have a look.
