The Japanese news is all over this this morning. I'm surprised Japan Today has nothing on it, considering the guy is American. But maybe none of their news sources has reported on it yet, so they don't have anything for us.

The suspect is an event promoter putting on music events. He lives in Yokohama's Hodogaya ward, with his wife and kids.

Here is a photo of the suspect Gregory Gumo with Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin Airlines.

From another source:

On Wednesday morning, the body was found wrapped in a brown plastic sheet and floating about 20 meters off the coast in Koajiro Bay. It was also attached to a concrete block that was used as a sinker with a yellow and black rope.

Police believe that the woman was thrown into the water while alive and drowned. According to Nippon News Network (July 30), the woman died the day before her body was discovered.

And some Japanese media say a large quantity of water was found in the woman's lungs. In other words, she was presumably thrown into the water alive and drowned. Um. Just the thought of it makes me shiver.

Cement blocks must have fallen off. Seems like a mafia hit to me.
