Woman's body found in river in Iwate

Police said Wednesday they still have not identified a woman whose body was found in a river in Kawai, Iwate Prefecture, around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. According to police investigations, the 160-cm-tall victim is a woman aged between 15 to 30 and her blood type is A. Police said the victim wore contact lens and had a spider tattoo on her right arm and a butterfly tattoo on her back. Her hair was golden brown.

Police said she had been in the river for one or two days after she died. They are still investigating the cause of her death but said she was possibly thrown into the river from a bridge above.

This has "Yak job" written all over it.

Good luck finding her family.

at least they narrowed it down to "between 15 and 30"

Bit much to speculate that she was 'thrown from a bridge' when she could have just jumped.

Typical stereo-typing at its best. Tattoos on her body and dyed hair therefore she was connected to Yak and therefore she must have been disposed of in a typical Yak style.

Spidey are you arguing with yourself?

Who's arguing? Don't you know a comment when you see one?

I know even more than that! I know when I see two statements that contradict each other! Give me my cookie!

spidey, I agree with both of your posts

Tattoos and bleached hair? This is backwater Iwate, not Shibuya...

Most of the gals in Shibuya are not locals. ;)

Upon further reflection..I can see where my comments could be seen as conflicting. However, the former is expressing my own opinion whereas the later is expressing the cuurent state of J-police investigative tactics.

Sorry but I only have chocolate chip. Is that OK?

Wow? We have already solved this case before the police? Talking about the yakuza, how many people posting to this thread actually have the faintest idea of who the yakuza are? Anybody on a first name basis with their local boss?

Chocolate chip is acceptable. devours cookie

Ah c'mon! No way this was the Yaks! If it was there would be no body! I suspect a jilted lover or pimp.

This surprises you?

J Cops are so slow solving crimes that they have to arrest the criminals grandson as the original perp (who was 20 when the crime was committed) has been dead for years by the time they solve it....

What surprises me is that people have this down as a Yakuza crime without any hard evidence. I just wanted to know what hard assertions such a summation was based upon.

Get CSI they always solve a murder in 45minutes. but seriously she is murdered, suicide or an accident during a picnic near the river.

I think the "yak" comment was a joke as only a bleached headed tattoo girl could of only been connected with the yak, oh say 20 years ago.

By the way you want the oyabun or kobuns first name.

Iwate is Japan 20 years ago.

Hmmm, 120,000 unnatural deaths in Japan go "uninvestigated ! Shall we mark this off as 120,001 ?

Wife is from Iwate. Have to admit that going up there is like taking a step back in time.
