Police in Tochigi Prefecture have arrested an unemployed 26-year-old man for violating anti-stalking laws after he left countless hand-written letters glued to the work desk of his former girlfriend.
According to police, Takahiro Ogihara and his former partner had split up some time before, but he continued emailing her messages confessing his love since last June, TV Asahi reported Friday.
Although Ogihara, a resident of Nikko, had been ordered by local authorities to cease all stalker behavior, he went into the office on the weekend of March 28-29, when no one was around, and glued the letters to the woman's desk.

Whatever happened to taking all that negative energy from a failed romance and channeling it into a hard-partying lifestyle where you drink until you dance and you dance until you can't stand up then you go home and sob yourself to sleep without involving other people?

Some of you seem not to understand how very scary it is to be stalked. In some ways, I hope you never do.
I can't speak for this particular situation, but in my case a strange man simply walked into the school office and asked for my name, home phone number and work schedule ... and the stupid receptionist gave them to him. the next few months were not a lot of fun for me, let me tell you.
Kudos to this young lady for trusting the police, and kudos to the police for giving her a reason to trust them. We've certainly come a long way.

How did he get into a closed office? So much for office security. I hope that it wasn't an office that had much PII (Personal Identification Information) about people just lying around, since if a crazed lovesick loser can get in, any professional ID theif should be able to walk right in and tap their computer network.

I wonder what twisted logic goes on in the minds of some of these people: " Maybe if I continually annoy, scare, harass and stalk, it will cause her to fall back in love with me.'

Tessa, those are excellent points. As someone who ridiculed the stalker, I do want to second you on giving the woman kudos for reporting it and the way the police handled it as well. I have known several women who were stalked. Police need to be on top of these things to keep them from escalating.
