Police in Tokyo have arrested a 32-year-old man who works at a day service care facility for children on suspicion of assaulting a 10-year-old boy.
According to police, Yuta Tanabe has admitted to assaulting the child at the Mizunaranoki facility at around 1:30 p.m. in May, Fuji TV reported. The boy suffered a fractured skull and was hospitalized for three months.
Police said Tanabe covered the boy’s head with some clothing and kicked him in the head, knocking him to the floor. Later that day, he told the boy’s mother that the child had fallen to the floor and hit his head after his arm got caught in the sleeve of his top as he was taking it off.
However, after the hospital notified police about a possible case of abuse, Tanabe was questioned further and he admitted that he kicked the boy on the spur of the moment after losing his temper when the boy bit him on the arm.

Japan needs a child abuse register so people like this do not get employed again in roles where they are responsible for children.

I seriously doubt he lost his temper so badly over a one-time incident of being bitten on the arm. If he was that hair-trigger he surely would have been noticed as being so much sooner. Plus a 10 year old biting people is pretty rare. I mean 3 yeah, but 10? There is some history here we are not being told surely.

Completely agree. It's not that difficult to set up, but it's also not that difficult to insulate buildings yet it doesn't happen often.

Here we can see political correctness vs. sad truth in the comments. There must be some explanation on why a 10 year old would bite someone and its hugely significant to understanding what happened. That the kid has some sort of mental disturbance is highly probable. But such a simple truth is now known as "victim blaming" so such truth are often hidden from us middle aged children by the high and mighty who always know whats better for us. (sarcasm)

@that person I have been in Japan a long time, many different places, and been to a ton of schools and attended a lot of long, boring teachers meetings Never heard of a kid of 10 biting someone...ever. My own kid was a biter but that stopped at about 5 years old. 10 and bit someone means something is up. Lots of possibilities but something is definitely up.

Also one has to wonder what led that kid to bite the guy? I don't think the poor kid was like "Hmmm.....an arm! I must bite! CHOMP!"
