Luckily it's not up to these writers, journalists and a movie director who are always liberal leaning and think everyone deserves a pass.

No kidding they just want to get their cut of any possible profits made from movies or stories about him which they SHOULD be giving to the victims familes

Mass murderers like these deserve to be locked up for life. And nobody should worship or profit from their crimes.
Always?
Pretty sure there were supporters of mass murderer Timothy McVeigh, back in the day. And of course, he's a martyr now. That's what happens when you execute these people.

Executing him will only make him a martyr for those who still follow this cult. Let him rot in a cell until he dies. That's a punishment. Death is not a sentence. It's a release.

Just a rabble of intellectuals yet idiots opportunists without skin in the game trying to profit and get 15 minutes of fame with total disregard for the victims. Probably leftists, those perverts.

You're way off beam here. A lot of people in Japan feel that the full truth of Aum and its crimes has never been revealed and never will be if they are all executed in one swoop. There are so many unanswered questions about their financing, support in Japan and abroad, relations with other religious groups both in Japan and other countries, relations with political groups and politicians, murders of their own members and so on.
At one point they were estimated to have assets of $300m and branches in several countries. The Dalai Llama welcomed Asahara in India and Asahara also made a couple of trips to the US. Nobody knows just how many people they killed; some estimates put the number as high as 100. There are also very murky rumours about the sarin gas attack being part of an attempted coup d'etat.
I've seen nothing to indicate that anyone is trying to make profits from Aum now, although back in the early 90s there were many people happy to hitch their wagons to what seemed, at the time, like a profitable New Religion.

There are many new converts and it’s growing still, even if they have changed the name.

AUM is a religious cult that tried to overthrow the Japanese government and establish a theocracy in Japan by spraying nerve gas in the subway trains.

I don’t think he deserves a new trial but I am against death penalty, even in this case. Most countries (67%) have outlawed capital punishment.

What confuses me is why someone on death row is still alive. Once appeals are done with, just do it

Apparently many of his followers who went off the radar have quietly moved and are now living in close proximity to his prison.
