Police in Mino, Osaka Prefecture, said Monday that someone poured "yakiniku" sauce into two post boxes, leaving 300 New Year greeting cards and other items sullied.
Japan Post officials said the sauce was poured into the post boxes in the same area sometime on Jan 3, TBS reported.
Police said a ramen soup packet had also been poured into another post box and said that the culprit, if caught, will be charged with obstruction of business.

Yakiniku sauce and a ramen soup packet. Sounds like the perp's trying to make yakisoba but doesn't know how.

Sounds like a case of yakimochi.

That explains why my new years card was so delicious.

This is news?
What a wonderful country.
The US has psychiatric cases running into schools, shooting up a load of kids and Japan has Yakiniku sauce bombing!
I'm glad I live in Japan.

Yes I guess you didn't notice the 15 year old beheading her classmate, the dozen police officers caught fondling people on trains, the guy knifing elders. Remember that the CIA torture news got forgotten because of a lowbrow comedy about north korea.

No antennas on cars any more, so resorting to other means of taking out stress.

Seems like it would be physically difficult to 'pour' yakiniku sauce into a post office box, given the position and size of the slot. I wonder if the person took the time to put it in a squirt bottle first or something. In any case, pretty low thing to do.

Crime? This should be in the "high jinks" section.
