Police in Soma, Fukushima Prefecture, have arrested the 49-year-old leader of the Sumiyoshi-kai yakuza gang on suspicion of assaulting a woman in her 40s at his home.
According to police, Minoru Shishido allegedly punched the woman in her face and about the head for 20 minutes from 2:30 a.m. to 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, Kyodo News reported. The woman reported the assault later.
The victim, who was not seriously injured, is said to be a close acquaintance of Shishido, police said.
After his arrest, police said Shishido told them he “doesn’t feel like talking” about the incident.

Big boss punch a female, where's code of conduct? No code at all?

What a hero. Must be a real lowlife and with zero power as he couldn't bribe his way off the charge.

Obviously not a gentleman, but a skunk.

It's a miracle that she survived being punched "in her face and head for about 20 minutes"..... if she'd collapsed and died from her injuries, he'd be getting ready to swing.
And now he's feeling a bit non-communicative - I'm sure they'll find ways which he'll be familiar with, of making him talk.
Why the Japanese allow these uncivilised 'gangsters' to carry on still is a mystery to me, seems totally anachronistic in these times.

simple solution, lock him in a cell till he does.
or better yet, just lock it and leave him, regardless

I do not understand why women socialize with gangsters. Stay away from such kind of men.
There are plenty of other men to choose from who are honest and would never harm a woman.
