Yokohama man fatally stabs ex-wife’s boyfriend

So in reality it was the murdered man son and the killer claim him as his own son since he became king of the hill. wow!

I don't know about the child abuse, but I do enjoy how Disillusioned turns it into a "men are the victims, poor men" diatribe coupled with a tacit understanding of the need for stabbing people on occasion. Gosh, if only poor victimized men were treated more fairly by life and society! Having almost everything isn't enough. We men have to have MORE than everything. Or else we snap and stab.

There have been cases of boyfriends killing his girlfriend's kids. We don't know anything other than that which was posted. So all we can do is speculate. In any case sad ending indeed. I truly hope the claim was real and not ,made up by the kid, since kids do lie, especially if they miss dad and/or want attention.

It's not difficult to imagine why some of these men just snap. Japan really needs to address the issue of joint custody and child support. It would go a long way to preventing these kinds of incidents.

Not to defend the dude with the knife, but had he not done killed that dude, we likely would have read an article about a live-in boyfriend getting arrested for abusing his girlfriend's child(ren).

And yes, child support / alimony is all whack in Japan.

I guess it's not hard to imagine why the wife divorced him in the first place.

I would be sympathetic if he had lost control after confronted the other man with the allegations and punched him to death, but the fact he brought a knife suggests that he planned to murder the man in spite of anything that would have been said or done. A real danger to society.

Dunno, the dude was a child abuser according to the report. This is case were dual custody of a child might have saved this man.

What a story, but if Japanese fathers really paid support, there wouldn't be so many kids doing without and struggling because their worthless fathers can't support them. I have heard from many single moms of Japanese fathers who dont' pay or even offer a yen to support the offspring and take responsibility but instead depend on the gov support system to do that job for them. I would know as I have raised two fine kids without them ever receiving a single yen much less a phone call, and there are many of these deadbeats out there.

The child was being ABUSED, the "partner" is DEAD, and the ex-husband is on a MURDER CHARGE. But the woman is a TOTALLY INNOCENT VICTIM in all this.

You are wrong. Child support is based on the previous year's salary. It is a chart. The thing wrong about it is that it does not take into consideration the spouse paying might have debts such as a big mortgage, and actually cannot afford to pay the listed amount without losing his/her home to the banks.

It seems that Japanese victims never actually "die" at the crime scene...

But then again, for all we know, the wife divorced her husband because he was a violent, murderous jerk. This guy could very well have been thinking, "The only person who'll beat my son is me," as he stabbed this woman's boyfriend to death.

The guy could have more easily just been mentally unhinged. It's a bit presumptuous to assume that this violence all stemmed from rage over admittedly unfair Japanese post-divorce child custody laws, no matter how unfair those laws actually are.

Afterward, when that same daughter got a boyfriend, we made it very clear to him how much the two kids meant to us. After that. the one time he smacked her son, we called the police. He never touched the kids again Thank God he's out of the picture now.

Agree with Disillusioned, though methinks there's more to it than just custody problems (and we don't know what their agreement was for sure). I'm thinking it's just classic rage over the ex., and I'll take a guess as well that it was she who left him, or at least more on her part, shacking up with a new man, and the son is the excuse. It may well be true that the guy tried to hit their son -- that also happens far too often with the live-in boyfriend, but again I think if true it was just the straw that broke the camel's back, or the justification for the man to do what he did.

This is true in many cases. But many husbands ignore their children after the divorce/separation. Take my step-daughter as an example. She had a son and a daughter when she finally left her abusive husband. The guy ignores the daughter completely, while lavishing attention on his son. He once took the son on a three day stay at Disney. What did the daughter get? ... Some Disney stickers, and those only because the boy made him do it.

Oh, geez! So, some guy who is dating his ex-wife, attempted to hit his son and the suspect decides to stab him and kill him. To protect his son?? Now what?? How is he going to protect his son and be a father to him when he is in prison?!?! He is such an idiot and both he, his son and his ex-wife will pay a price for it, not to mention the victim paying the ultimate price.

I just really hope that the story of the victim attempting to hit the child was not a falsehood told by someone involved in this.
