Wow, that is one rollercoaster of a story and life! They should totally make a movie out of it.

Imo, he sounds like a pretty awful person who married an even more terrible person. But it's a fascinating story, and I would like to watch it and feel better about my own life and decisions lol. Just goes to show you money and young beautiful women aren't everything.

But maybe it is the closest one can ever get to everything.  Didn’t Woody Allen once say that “sex without love is an empty experience, but as far as empty experiences go, it is one of the best.”

A story as old as humanity.

Pukey2 nails it in that they all sound like awful people. Asking women if they'll shag you for 40 man sounds like a perfect way to attract an unscrupulous one.

Why unscrupulous? You realize that on Deai sites, the pocket money asked for is usually around 4 man, and that is for a date with someone on the internet, with all the worries associated with that. Here she can see who she is dealing with, and the amount is 40 man.

I bet there is a lot you would do for 40 man in an afternoon. Would you call yourself unscrupulous?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

At 25 years old she could do all that? manipulative, got rich without a career. wow! an example to other J young ladies?

Nozaki came from a poor family and became a rich man on his own

A good self-made man.

He paid for too many women and eventually came across a bad apple. Good life but painful end.

For a 21 year old to have access to such drugs, she definitely had help from some kind of mafia.

Not sure who is worse. Probably the murdering psychopath. The old guy had a colorful life, that’s for sure! Being an unapologetic womanizer is one thing, being a killer is another.

It sounds like there is a ton of circumstantial evidence that its her, but Japanese police aren't good with circumstantial evidence and usually need someone to 'fess up. Hence this taking so long and probably dragging on from here.

I had a friend who was the ultimate womanizers. Not rich but good looking, had the gift of talking up women, dressed elegantly all the times.

That works as long as he is young and handsome. As age sets in, money will have to compensate for the declining physical attraction. If he does not have any, that is the end of his womanizing. Its the human condition, accept it.

And, on second thinking here, he was 77 and she was 21 so her researching 'stimulants' rather than 'depressants' has a plausible motive, but without data on the 'stimulant' or how much either thought was necessary to achieve whatever their goal, the 'evidence' here seems largely a 56 year age difference. Maybe we'll see more convincing evidence if the case proceeds and details are reported.

Ah, Humans...door-to-door condom salesman! LOL I'm laughing like a monkey imaging knocking on a door in AMERICA and presenting my wares...they'd have me in CHAINS and I'd be on the sex registry...this guy must have been an interesting person to have a beer with...

I never ever disclose my financial position to anyone other than my financial advisors.

Simply do not want to attract the wrong type of people.

Even my car, I usually park it far away when meeting friends.

He must have dated over 1000 thousand women. But he never married. He was the happiest person I have know.

His downfall was that he drank a lot. When we would go out, he would drink 3 drinks in time I drank one.

He went back to UK. I tried getting in touch with him but not possible.

Not sure what happened to him.

irreconcilable

If the wife does get convicted, it would be interesting to know who would get all his money

According to the article, the relatives are already preparing to fight over it, claiming that "someone else" wrote the will. The prospect of money surely brings out the best in people.

If the wife does get convicted, it would be interesting to know who would get all his money. Does he have a next of kin or wakayama ken and the federal government get all the money and fortune. There are many kinds of gold diggers.

No way that a guy who gives women tons of money in exchange with spending time with him can be called a "womanizer" or a "Don Juan," at least by Western cultural standards.

You are right...he would simply be called a “John”.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

In superstitious former times Nozaki's way of life and ultimate fate were called "the wages of sin". Like many before him he put his money on the opposite sex and lost the gamble. RIP.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Yes, that is Western shared delusion, claiming that money and sex are unrelated. So e.g. George Soros 18 year old Brazilian model girlfriend simply loves the guy because he is such wonderful company? Right.

No one in their right mind is characterizing George Soros as a "Don Juan" though. I suppose he is in Japan though.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Funny from the beginning, sad to the end. A hard working guy who used his money to buy him the finest things in life with desires that killed him in the end.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Well, at least he had lived his life to it's fullest. I did like how hard working he is to accomplish his dream and also willing to donate everything to the city after his death. This is a man who had lived his own way of life with no regrets. After his longtime dog companion is gone, there is probably no much more to look forward too except dying in the hands of a beautiful woman.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I don’t know why people are speaking ill of Nozaki-san. he was a self made man who was up front in his relationships. No one had to take him up on his offers. Perhaps sleazy, but he was murdered!

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Money lender means one thing in most countries including Japan. When you need a legit loan talk to the bank. He was a sleazy piece of crap that won't be missed. Seems his marriage choices meet the same profile

2 ( +3 / -1 )

What’s terrible about the justice system here this trophy wife might get about 10 years for what she might get life in other countries.

My god, I can't find one single person in the article I can sympathize with - all I see is selfishness, egoism, gold-digging and self-dellusion. It's the dead dog that comes out of it looking the best.

A fool and his money are quickly parted.

Similarities with Anna Nicole Smith, only Anna waited for nature to take its course. I'm sorry, but when a young woman dates someone more then 50 years her senior, there$ only one thing $he'$ after.

The police found the death suspicious in 2018 and it took three years to take some action. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to know who should be the prime suspect. I just saw this on TV outside, and I was wondering, did she flee somewhere and just decide to give herself up? It turns out she was living in Tokyo all this time and nothing was done until now? Had she been a foreigner, she would have been thrown in jail the day after his death.

Nozaki came from a poor family and became a rich man on his own after starting to work upon graduation from middle school. He became a successful door-to-door salesman of condoms in his 20s, and used the profits to become a money-lender in Tokyo.

That is quite a wild career. I have no idea if she murdered him, and the evidence seems flimsy, but I must say he had a long and impressive life.

Suicide was ruled out, police said, noting Nozaki had planned to attend a funeral for his dog, a miniature dachshund named Eve.

This sentence had me ROFL. Coen Brothers material.

'He became a successful door-to-door salesman of condoms in his 20s, and used the profits to become a money-lender in Tokyo."

back in the day, a non j westerner ordered some c's on line from a huge commercial vendor, only to have his significant other a native; be informed by a local courier of his order, ending in divorce-talk about no privacy.

What took so long? Surely, she was top of the list of usual suspects.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Police did not have much clue, though the wife was a suspect from the start and did a thorough investigation. Not sure how much their info is solid now.

Seems, police rushed to arrest her as she was about to leave Japan, out of reach. It's anyone's guess that they have enough evidence or any breakthrough in investigations. I only hope the due process will be kept.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Don JuanaB got duped and died for it. That is sad.

But as his legal heir, Sudo was entitled to a portion of his assets despite the will, with the amount to be determined in a legal process.

So that shows you that a will is useless here even if written up by a law firm and registered.
