From what I’ve been hearing, the trailer ismisleading

I mean, some people felt like they were watching real life when they saw the trailer (btw—trailers are not supposed to reveal too much and I’ve gotta say, I think it was pretty clever the way they put it together, they wanted people to talk about it—that’s their job, right?).

And when you see Jesse Plemons say What kind of American (or Americans, I don’t remember), you think of what’s going on in the US right now and how it does NOT have a southern border and it’s almost like you’re watching a documentary (unless you’re living under a rock).

The Right doesn’t need to see a movie about civil war, they’re already in one with themselves.

You do know that A24 is an independent film, tv, streaming production company that does not play by trad hollywood rules.

They consider themselves on the edge in relation to mainstream.

They have won big awards in spite of their independent nature.

Neither race nor income inequality appear as issues of division. The president's political party is unspecified.

We were all thinking the same thing after we saw (the always great, always cool) Jesse Plemons ask “What kind of American?” but anyway, the reviews are good—can’t wait to watch this (anyone knows when we can watch this in Japan?).
