Well I hope my great grand-children will get to read the final book. At the rate he's writing them, I'm not sure..

The GOT books are fun to read. I hope GRRM has enough time to write the remaining books in the same gifted way he's written all of his previous ones.

I've resigned myself to the idea that he likely never will finish writing the series. At the rate he's writing, we'd be looking at another 10+ years. I don't think he has 10+ years left.

At least we'll get an idea of what the end was to be from the tv show.

C'mon, GRRM, admit it: You're just trolling us now!

How much different are the books from the tvshow?

Personally I couldn't get in the first 5 seasons of the tv-show but after that the story become a lot better and interesting. Wonder how much the story has deviated from the original to read the actual books too.

The South Park Episode with him in it (Song of Ass and Fire) had it about right........

The HBO first season follows the book rather accurately, but after that the books and the HBO series begin to differ. Actually, I liked the way the books differ more than the TV series, however, I still enjoy watching the HBO series. When I described how one scene in the book differs with the way it was handled on TV with fans who're only familiar with the HBO series, they'll say, "That sounds better", referring to the books. The detail and descriptions are also much more vivid in the books, and, as mentioned, the story line is changes, especially after the first book. This is kind of fun when you're watching it on TV and making mental comparisons with the books.

I also like lemon cakes more than I did before.
