Looking forward to this.

Ditto.

Sounds interesting.
I’ve always particularly liked angel/demon stories. Very few good ones. I recommend Christopher Walken’s “The Prophecy” trilogy. Not so popular. Hilarious when Walken (Gabriel) says “you talking monkey” because he’s pissed that God loves us humans so much.
I would have liked to see Terry Gilliam’s take on this as director as he was slated for a 2002 version that never got off the ground.

For me it's as much because it's Terry Pratchett at his finest. I guess I'll have to wait a bit before it shows up on Amazon prime in Japan though.

Read the book years back, the Pratchett/Gaiman combo really worked well.

Just what we needed. More end-of-the-millennium 'rapture' rubbish for the fans of the garbage 'Left Behind' lovers. No thanks.

Mate, the book was written 30 years ago. I don't know about the series but the novel is a laugh. Highly recommend it.

Binge watched it last night. Very good.

There lies the issue and answer. In the 90s and early 00s too many people did believe in Armageddon Coming Now and there were cult mass suicides in Uganda and Israel in 1999-2000 over it, never mind the Order of the Solar Temple and Heaven's Gate in 1996-1997 over the famous Comet Hale-Bopp. I remember also in Rosh Hoshanah 1988 some fellow coworkers at my job were standing around doing nothing waiting to be 'taken up' due to '40 years of peace in Israel' (!).
Maybe the novel IS a comedy, if it is I might read it. I've just have seen so much of this misread misinterpreted nonsense and the ignoramuses who believe it. The 'Left Behind' DVD series, for instance is just another money-grabbing exercise for such sheep. That stuff is total trash. Avoid.

@starpunk - I get what you're saying. Just wondering though... have you read any Terry Pratchett stuff before? It's really funny stuff.

Comparing Good Omens to the likes of Left Behind and other serious takes on 150 year old New Testament dispensationalism is way off.
In other words, it like comparing Monty Pythons The Life of Brian to Mel Gidsons The Passion of Christ.

Thanks for the info, guys. I think I'll search for it. After all, Dante's 'Inferno' is considered a classic 400 years after it was written and the 'Left Behind' DVD series will be forgotten in 50 years because it's garbage.

Mel Gibson's 'Passion' movie drew in all the sadistic 'conservative Christian' types who cheered the illegal torture of Iraqi war prisoners during the time of the movie's run. That film will be forgotten too, especially since Mel showed his true colors and his rotten shenanigans virtually deep-sixed his career.
