Another franchise like Harry Potter, Star Wars etc, to be milked until who knows when. I bet they are already condidering writing a couple of sequels.

I have never read the novels but the movies are OK. However, it does remind me the Japan movie Batttle Royale. They are successful mainly because J.L. was casted.

Good god another one? Four movies plus now these prequels will bring them to five, six, seven....movies. Does Hollywood have any writers anymore?

I enjoyed the books as well as the films. I shall probably go and see this.

A similar, YA, post-apocalyptic trilogy I enjoyed was the "Divergent" series.

A lot of teenagers, especially girls, were reading these books as they came out

I also enjoyed the books and the films. I look forward to reading the prequels.

There's a good Reason why the new X-men movie is dying at the box office -- people are TIRED of these directors being unable to leave things alone. And EVERY single time you hear: "This one is different!" whether it's the latest transformers, latest X-men, latest Terminator (that one might actually do well), or all the reboots and remakes.
