I loved the show too, from their days in Milwaukee to when they were in California. The show ended its run the year I graduated HS (the same for 'Happy Days') and as a t(w)een I thought Shirley/Cindy was the cuter of the two. Funny thing is, while Penny marshall went on to writing and directing, Cindy was 'starring' in movies so wretchedly godawful that they were guaranteed to be shown on Cinemax and HBO 3 months after release. No matter. Lenny is still around.
And just last month we lost the 'Cheers' goddess Kirstie Alley. When that show ended 30 years ago this coming spring, I somehow 'sensed' that a turning point had been reached. TV comedy would never be the same or as funny, ever again. While the 'Simpsons' and 'Seinfeld' soldiered on and provided some major yucks, both those shows practically ran out of 'good humor' gas around 1996 or so. And the finale for 'Seinfeld' has HORRIBLE. The absolute PITS.
TV shows this good and funny are a thing of the past. RIP Cindy and say hello to Laverne and Squiggy.

Great actress, absolutely loved that classic show, she will definitely be missed, and another one went way too soon. They just don't make TV of actors like these anymore, just a sad shame.
RIP.
