'Lord of the Rings' gets anime makeover with 'War of the Rohirrim' film

It would be interesting to see, but the hype that follows anything related to the LotR almost guarantee it will be received with multiple complains, the same as happened with the Hobbit movies or the rings of power series, it is never going to live to the impossible high standards of the people most interested in seeing it.

What is the purpose of making this ridiculous claims? can you even provide any reference for this or did you write this just to try to impose your personal opinion as if it was fact?

Tolkien's masterpiece is a sacred tale rooted in Western values, Christian morality

Catholic is not the same as Christian, and it is terribly easy to find people that do not consider it sacred, so it is not an argument.

Everything can be subjected to adaptation to anime, even actual sacred texts like versions of the bible, not to mention that there are plenty of examples of anime that is not big eyed, not hyper stylized nor childish, which immediately disqualifies your criticism.

At the end your whole argument is that YOU personally don't consider it interesting, therefore nobody else should, this of course is completely invalid and in no way contradicts the fact that people can and do find the prospect interesting and worth at least checking, mostly because your personal opinion can't be imposed on others, no matter how much you want to do it.

I am a fan of Tolkien's Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and a big fan of Jackson's LOTR trilogy. I watch the extended cuts almost every year during my winter vacation. The Hobbit movies were a bit disappointing, although better on a second watch.

Having tried and failed to enjoy or get into any animated media as an adult, I will probably give this one a miss. A live action story about the Rohirrim is something I would definitely be interested in. They were a highlight of the second film for me.

But unlike the first "Lord of the Rings" movies -- or the disappointing "The Hobbit" films that followed -- there are no magical rings or all-powerful Dark Lords this time around.

Peter Jackson took the Hobbit ( you’ve all read thatthin book, right?) and turned it into a series of imaginative films.

To my mind, he did a splendid job!

the Hobbit was disappointing EXCEPT for the fact that it could have been one or two movies max.

Not a fan of the anime style but the film was pretty good if a bit long. I don't think it needed to be 2 hours and 15 minutes long.

Here's hoping for the best. Hard to imagine it will be as good as the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, but who knows?
