The Avenger
She always did appear old even in her twenties?
A bit dour in her roles but played them perfectly and very believable.
Her TV series was well written and well acted . She was a very actress. Her role in Manchurian candidate was quite a great villainous role that was played to perfection.
Hard to believe that she never won an Emmy in 18 nominations.

She was also the godmother of Crystal Symphony, the sistership of Crystal Harmony, which was renamed Asuka II and now calls Yokohama home.

Angela Lansbury made a fortune out of a series with every episode polt line having only two elements, there's is murder and it is solved.

A talented and entertaining actress who brought a sense of comfort.

I loved watching Bedknobs and Broomsticks as a kid. It kind of reminded me of Mary Poppins as it mixed in some animation. RIP

Very sad to hear indeed. I was thinking of her recently, actually. And during the pandemic, I rewatched old episodes of "Murder, She Wrote" - a kind of comfort food for me. May she rest in peace - many condolences to her family and those who loved her. Truly the passing of a wonderful legend.

I always wanted to see her in a play but I never seemed to be in the right place at the right time to go to one of her shows. My first memory of her is in the Disney film Bedknobs and Broomsticks, so much fun to watch her.
Her passing adds urgency that I really do need to see Ian McKellan on stage as well.

This year is really shaping up to be the year where we just lose all the greats. I love Angela Lansbury. One of my favorite childhood movies is Bedknobs and Broomsticks. RIP Ms. Lansbury. Thank you for all wonderful decades of entertainment.

She was the richest TV actress at the time worth $80 million. Awarded a Dame.

That show was predictable, maybe far-fetched but it was nice entertainment at least during the more innocent and hopeful late 80s. By the time it went off the air in 1996 the world had changed radically, society having lost the human element that the show portrayed.
There used to be a retirement resort for acting stars in LA, it was called the 'Garden of Allah'. It's long gone but maybe there's other resorts where they retire and hobnob.
