Wow, that'll be quite a storyline.

One problem I have with this, which might not be a problem, is that it should be really easy for a person who is loading a firearm to tell the difference between a live round and a dummy one.

When I was in the army I got a lot of experience with both live ammunition and blanks. A blank looks very different from a live round. The brass casing is the same, but there is no bullet in it and instead the opening where that would go has been crimpled up in a way that is impossible to miss.

So if I was loading a magazine with blanks and someone had slipped a real round into the pile I was drawing from, I would have immediately noticed this the second I tried to put the round in.

I'm not sure if the "dummy" rounds used in Hollywood for the particular firearm being used in that scene are as distinctive from real rounds are in the same way. If they aren't then maybe this is a pointless observation on my part. But if they are, its just really weird that she wouldn't have noticed that when loading it.

Any desperate story to try to deflect any criticism from the person responsible for loading the gun or the person firing it.,

America is making too many crime movies like shooting and shooting people. It seems like they love guns shooting people. Such movies just made a real crime unnoticed.

Media protects Baldwin because he parodies the person they hate on SNL. If it was his right leaning brother, the media would have a field day with this.

That is for sure.

Uh, the media IS having a field day with this, its been in the news pretty much non-stop since it happened.

Ideally, if you in charge of guns, you have to make sure that your guns are safe every time, and to make sure that nobody can touch them without your supervision. If it is organized differently, then such accidents are inevitable.

Lawyers, often dubbed professional liars, once again prove their worth in fabricating an absurd 'alternative theory' in order to create doubt aka reasonable doubt, in order to prevent the conviction of their client. As such the surreal notion of justice is served.

You are living in some kind of alternative universe where this isn’t in the media?

It’s been in the news everyday since it happened.

The right are having a field day with this, Don jr even took a break from the powder and killing protected species to sell some Tshirts.

Blaming Alec for it? Nope!

As said above, "in the media" is not in question.

What is in question is the sympathetic coverage of Baldwin to the point where sometimes it seems as if he was the victim of all of this.

Excuse after excuse until one sticks. Someone "planted" the live rounds, others were fired previously for violations, he isnt responsible for checking the gun, he isnt responsible for the dysfunctional movie set, the paparazzi doesnt know the victims name (how date they question me! they dont know her NAME, she was my FRIEND!)

The media would not be so open to the 4th or 5th narrative already if it wasnt Alec Baldwin.

There’s an ongoing investigation into this, if you hadn’t noticed.

Why is it those who scream “Innocent until proven guilty” and “witch-hunt” the most are soonest to forget it?

Very hypocritical.

Some speedy alt logging. Very good.

A blatant attempt to introduce "reasonable doubt" into the issue. Trying to ensure a lighter sentence.

The armorer was responsible for preparing the weapons. The assistant director was responsible for picking up the correct weapon and double checking it to ensure it had the correct rounds in it. The Shooter was also responsible for ensuring the weapon he was about to fire had the correct ammunition in it and NOT take someone else's word for it. Always make a weapon safe when one is handed to you. If you are to fire said weapon you check the load out. That is the universal gun safety 101.

Wow I have up voted two Blacklabel posts on this topic. Is the sky falling?

The end fault is with the shooter. Trying to make him a victim is to ignore his responsibilities in gun handling. Never take anyone's word for the state of a firearm given to you, ever.

Who was responsible for the gun???

Young woman. In her early 20s. She admitted she doesn't have experience yet she was still hired.

This is what happens when you hire more women who are NOT qualified for the job, but your doing it to look progressive and for picture time.

As someone previously pointed out, if it was Baldwin’s republican younger brother who had pulled the trigger the MSM - and you - would be screaming bloody murder right now.

Very hypocritical.

The lawyer just doing their job, not particularly surprising or ridiculous.

The media's job is just to present the facts and there is no world where it's not done with some bias. I'm not aware of any omission / twist of facts here, so I don't need anyone to draw the conclusion or doubts for me.

I do agree he's getting less criticism and pressure than usual but that's not the role of the media when there's an ongoing investigation. This isn't a case where pressure from the media would or should change the outcome because he is able to withhold evidence. So who cares? The only thing that matters is whats happening in court.

Ultimately, only ONE person is responsible : the person who squeezed the trigger. THAT person failed to verify that the firearm was actually safe/unloaded.
