Besides being a great show, SNL has always tastefully represented the mood of the times.

Why don’t these millionaires “tribute” some of their money to Ukraine.

I just saw the choir on another webpage. It's melancholic and serious this time, nothing funny at all. I just wonder how one of my 5th grade teachers would feel if she were living now. She was married to a Ukrainian Holocaust survivor, and she taught us about social peace and respect for others. She had each of us write an essay about a famous Black American for February (I did Langston Hughes) and she even wrote several ugly racist epithets (incl. those for Whites) on the board, told us their meanings, why they're bad and why we should not call people by these names.

She and her husband are now dead. I remember when the Cold War ended, then the USSR broke up two years later. Things looked very promising then. Now we have different faces, Russia isn't Communist anymore but things didn't really change. It's the same crap with a new twist for this new time. And it's sad.
