Content that satirises China is still available on other streaming platforms in Hong Kong.

Pretty key line here. Implying that this is coming from the platform provider themselves, not the government. Makes sense that they wouldn't want to preemptively damage their relationship with the government.

Admittedly, it is also a pretty different case from the South Park episode, I could see arguments either way.

Disney is weak and complicit w/ China as far as I'm concerned.

china IS not, nor has it ever been, your Friend.

Disgusting censorship.

China and their puppet province HK are despicable totalitarian places. Disney - if they had any ethics, would withdraw from both markets. Of course, $$$ will prevail.

What do they have to hide?

Do they worry the people will want revenge or a new government?

If they fear the truth being discussed about past leadership and their crimes against the people, then how can they hold themselves up as a world leader now?

If they are ashamed of the party and it's actions then they have little right to lead anything or anyone.

If they have no shame or regret then they should own up to what happened. If the have shame and regret they should apologize.

Hiding the truth is the action of cowards. Who would want a group of cowards as leaders?

If the show was still running, this would be the subject of a new episode with Homer and Bart going to China to investigate, getting arrested and interrogated, escaping with the help of Jackie Chan, finding the missing episode and broadcasting it illegally all over China via Bart's iPhone with extra Itchy & Scratchy tidbits then meeting the ghost of Mao. Man...I miss the Simpsons.

It's happening!

HK is history, gone. It's part of China now.

Attention all nations of the planet Earth. Attention all nations of the planet Earth. Attention all nations of the planet Earth.

The CCP has assumed control. The CCP has assumed control. The CCP has assumed control.

And it's 2021, not 2112.
