When I was a university exchange student in the late 1990s, I watched SNL with dorm mates, and it was really funny. When I'm in the US occasionally these days, I watch it, but it is not funny now.

SNL really went down hill for a long time but these past few seasons have found their grove again and it's pretty darn funny.

I find it interesting when people say the show has gone down hill and that it's not funny anymore. Because it's been on air for 50 years they must be doing something right. I've watched it pretty much most of the 50 years.

Especially the early to mid 80s plus anything with Phil Hartman, RIP. Some seminal music performances over the years, too.
SNL has always been hit or miss (more often than not miss), but the critical conversation about it is part of the fun.
