It is difficult to truly wonder how Disney completely unravelled "Snow White" an early 19th century German fairy tale, 1812 Brothers Grimm children fantasy masterpiece

However, only need to reflect on Disney, the horrors of Star Wars, the dialogue is a verbal crime.

However, Paramount Global heinous Star Trek abominations is a very close second.

Straight to the ICC, gross improper abuse of a global "youth" wonderland of science fiction.

Dr Who ?

Sleepy indeed, and any mystery why? Audiences are SICK to death of Hollywood's relentless virtue-signaling, and this trainwreck was doomed the moment they decided to ignore the OBVIOUS name of the titular character and inject some Uber "Progressive" nonsense where it makes zero sense. Instead of honoring the original fairy tale, they force-fed us yet another lazy, race-swapped, CGI-laden monstrosity that replaced talented actors with digital abominations, just to tick all the DEI boxes.

But here's the thing - people aren’t buying it anymore. They're voting with their wallets, and Disney’s box office nosedive proves that audiences DON'T want their favorite stories gutted for the sake of pandering. Hollywood needs to finally learn the lesson: STOP lecturing, STOP rewriting, and START making actual decent movies again.

I enjoy the movies, cinema.

To be entertained, escapism, sometimes to be scared witless, enthrilled , even sickened in gory disgust.

I can say I do not yearn to be lectured with every moral political correctness.

Disney pressing its hand firmly down on the self-destruct button.

Disney shouldn't be surprised Snow White bombed. But wokeism, progressivism and the like are just as much a religious belief system as any other. The faithful have their liturgy, blasphemy laws and worst of all zealous devotion to the "faith" to the point that they are willing to sacrifice all for the cause.....like the Disney crowd who must have known from the beginning that Snow White was likely to bomb and lose a mint full of money, yet went ahead anyway.

A lot of pontificating here from people who have the same response to every problem that exists in society, but I think the real problem is that Disney is out of ideas. It made sense to redo, say, Aladdin, as a lot of people have living memory of the original animated release, and they could get a lot of star power behind it as well. That doesn't mean that every single Disney movie in the vault should get the same treatment, especially something like Snow White which is seen as more of an historical curio these days for die hards. "Take everything old and make it live action CG" is a strategy that definitely has its limits.

Grown men proudly showing how masculine they are by having very strong opinions about... Snow White.

Maybe kids should read the original fairy tale where the Queen eats what she thinks are Snow White’s lungs and liver and at the end of the tale is forced to dance at the wedding in red hot slippers until she dies.

That’ll toughen them up young so they don’t cry about Disney children’s movies on the internet when they become adults.

Disney has it's own agenda in it's decisions to make movies with turning a profit of course the number 1 priority.

But it also has the right to make whatever it wants.

There are no rules or guidelines or manuals determining the creative aspects of a product. That's entirely on the studio and they take on any approach at their own risk.

There are no doubt established industry "protocols" - for the want of a better word - but film as a vehicle for creating fantasy has license to follow it's own dream.

Rachel Zegler as Snow White - so what! She's a young vibrant accomplished actor.

The 7 dwarfs were CG - so what! It's Disney, you know the greatest animation studio in the world.

In the 21stC CG has become the cornerstone of big productions, allowing directors and producers freedom to create and innovate.

The majority of movies based on an historical text or character(s) always take liberties. They are not reproductions word perfect of the original.

I'll see Snow White next week with no preconceived notions, angst or "I told ya so" attitude.

I'll just let it flow over me. If for me it's good - well then good. If for me it's not good - well then so be it.

Can't believe they even made that much. Looks lame as.

Who said all those who comment on this are men?

Not going to see that. A poster for what’s exactly wrong with the world. There are more important things to better spend your time. Like posting comments lol.

More people would have gone to see it if they made Sam Jackson as Snow White.

Why can't 'masculine' men have an opinion on Snow White? Hypocritical to use gender stereotypes. So you believe in traditional gender stereotypes but support a movie that doesn't.

Exactly! How dare these pronoun-loving Uber "Progressives" recklessly assume our genders - in 2025! - so much for their so-called inclusivity, LOL!

The elephant in the room is that people want to see something new and fresh. Dealing soley in nostalgia doesn't work because you alienate half of the audience from the beginning because the remake is not like what they fondly remembered. The original Snow White was a masterpiece of its time, but its still readily available to anyone who is interested in watching it. There's no need to update something like that because people liked it how it was. If they didn't, they'd watch something else.

I will have a small side wager (legal in japan) that the 70K+ spectator at yesterday's Derby (4yr old horses here), had more entertainment and enjoyment than anybody watching snow 'white'. Not even on the race card.

Disney has always been for kiddies. Where are your children's comments. Only old children will be alienated.

Horses spoke y'day. please let the childrens speak today!
