The SNL skits were bang on in their portrayal of Trump and Spicer, and funny as hell (much to the denial and chagrin of GDPers, most of whom probably couldn't watch but will still give their opinion on it), but I'm not sure it deserves so many nominations just because of that. Westworld is definitely getting some of the credit it deserves, as is Stranger Things.

Fan of the original Westworld and new series, but for me Stranger Things came out of nowhere and hit the 80's nostalgia button right on the head for me. I watch a A LOT of tv and Stranger Things was by far my favorite show of last year.

TBH not sure I agree with House of Cards as Best Drama, the last season was really weak compared to previous seasons I thought. I 100% agree GoT doesn't deserve Best Drama for last season's train wreck, I doubt it can recover this seasons either

SNL won because they rip on Trump. You can also win if you make a show about the horrors of global warming, a gay love story, or a bunch of women who run a vegan cafe.

Westworld and Fargo were both great. For me The Expanse made great great TV.

Good on Jonanthan Banks for securing a nomination; his deadpan Mike Ermentrout is a joy to behold in Better Call Saul. Surprised Michael McKean didn't get one, mind. His disintergrating Chuck was a revelation to those of us used to his comedic output.

They haven't won. The awards take place in September. I imagine they were nominated because SNL in it's current incarnation is funny.

Why not?

The Day After showed the horrors of nuclear conflict that was apt for the times. Still is.

Orange is the New Black can cover your gay love story and it does have women, some of whom have "tend" a garden. Exceptional show, as well.

Westworld and Fargo were just absolutely brilliant. The writing for both the shows was extraordinary.

I look forward to seeing both; haven't seen season 3 of Fargo yet but I'm hearing good things about it.

Seasons 1 and 2 were magnificent.

I'm sorry but SNL might be doing well in their opening Trump skits/Weeknd Update but the rest of the skits are unfunny for the most part especially growing up in the 80s/90s.

Westworld? You mean people actually watch that mind draining crap? Fargo was very good but I'm not sure what season I saw, maybe the 2nd.

I really will never understand you TeeVee people. I thought "Incorporated" was an excellent TVseries, Earth is lay waste by desertification and two corporations rule, vying for power in walled luxury, with "have-nots" suffering outside the golden bars. Though a little blah blah in the dialog. With all the recent "progressive" movement, and global warming movement one would think this would be a hit. Nope. Canceled after one season, as copy of a 1970's movie about a fantasyland of robots gets the high marks. Crazy

Best TV show out there is TOP GEAR USA. I can garuntee you'll laugh a heck of a lot more than watching lame SNL. Unless of course you're INTO the group think thing.
