Hung out with the Beatles and the Stones, a rock legend. Bad times, good times, great songs.

There are few songs that can match the raw energy and passion of "Be My Baby" thanks for the good times.

Be My Baby has the best intro to any pop song, ever. RIP Ronnie.

I echo @The Avenger and @Alfie, to me "Be my Baby" is among the best if not the best pop song ever, RIP Ronnie, and also thank you to Mr, Spector for making the song one of the best.

I like how Scrosese used the song in "Mean Streets":

Rest In Peace” dear Ronnie. Her iconic voice and sound, along with the Ronettes, defined the ‘Beehive-era”. Thanks to Eddie Money, The B-52’s, The Go-Go’s, Billy Joel and others in the 80’s for calling back Ronnie into fame once again.

Ronnie’s special ‘light’ from within, like Tina Turner, outshone the dark shadows cast by their ‘Svengaliesque’ controlling ex-husbands, managers & producers. These are women who took charge of their lives and earned their own place in Rock’s Hall of Fame.

And the Ramones too. They covered 'Baby I Love You' on their 1980 album produced by Phil Specter. They said he was a control freak too, even pulled a gun on Johnny Ramone.

And Tina Turner 9at least in telling the story of a wife escaping an abusive husband). I've seen Eddie Money twice at a casino. He performed 'Take Me Home Tonight' but the audience sang the line where Ronnie filled in. Met him myself and he signed my GH CD. Ronnie lives on in spirit and inspiration. RIP.

What a voice. Unforgettable. One of the greats. RIP.

I'll certainly second that. Those of us who were teenagers in the 60s will never forget the Ronettes.

RIP to a legend. I still listen to her music (the Ronnettes) when I'm craving some nostalgia and MAN does it do the job. Love all their music, and her death is a loss to the industry and the world.

Much respect to her.

May she RIP.

We only know her half of the story. Ike was out there for sure, but was all the allegations true? Tina wasn't quite the dove and an innocent victim that a lot of people thought she was back in the day, I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Definitely an unforgettable voice and although I wasn't born in that era her records were always played in our house. Sad to lose yet another talented artist.

RIP

That voice crying "Be My Baby" over the wall of sound made hearts race and sent a tingle of thrills down many a teenage boy's back. A popular music classic that became a legend and brought the Ronettes everlasting pop fame. RIP Ronnie.

You're probably right. After she made an impression and made quite a 'strong intelligent woman' impression that peaked with her role in 'Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome' then in 1986 she portrays a promiscuous adultress image in the dopey insulting 'Typical Male'. After that I quit paying attention to her work (gradually), with her singing songs with pizza box lyrics about dumb topics like car sex ('Steamed Windows'), that's not very 'strong survivor' or even 'feminist' in my book. But I don't doubt Ike was a rotten husband either.

At least Ronnie was better than that. She never put on such an image. She had class. She spilled the beans about Phil's abuse in a book but she was never put on an unchaste or dirty image in her persona or her songs.

I wasn't born in that era her records were always played in our house. Sad to lose yet another talented artist.

Same deal here. And of course I was 20 when she made her 'comeback' thanks to Eddie Money on MTV. Respect from my Generation X as well. May Ronnie RIP in Rock'n'Roll Heaven.
