I fell asleep during the movie. This was garbage.

Super hero movies used to be made for children. Now theyre churned out for “adults”.

I suspect the media is trying to push this movie, for reasons.

Critically it has been panned.

Understand that you're being Lied To, by Omission. "Soars" to 100 million? LOL With a budget TWICE that? That's a Disastrous opening amount. *As for "global" audiences, you can divide that amount by half, at least, as that's all the movie-maker ever gets to see from foreign showing.

Hollywood press was praying for at least DOUBLE the 100m opening mark (domestic), to be able to even WHIFF making a profit. Ain't gonna happen. They're scrambling to BREAK EVEN at this point. Another Marvel DUD.

A "51% Rotten" is HORRENDOUS. That means that almost an equal amount of full-time SHILLING FOR HOLLYWOOD critic community did NOT like the movie! LOL

And "it's not the worst in the MCU for an opening" is spin for "this movie scored the Third Worst of ANY MCU film EVER. Which is beyond Pathetic. LOL. But hey...if Hollywood wants to spin "Captain America" as "having nothing to do with America"...I guess they got what they wanted, when America decided to sit this Bomb out!

Imagine caring this much about... a Marvel movie.

Marvel, DC,....that ship has sailed a long time ago. Yeah I guess made for adults but with childish content. Better to rewatch the Dark Knight trilogy.

The Red Hulk was defeated by the black rap culture-amazing fiction!

Didn't see the movie, but Captain America always makes me giggle a little bit. It is such a super American thing. I can't imagine anyone in any other country creating a similar superhero. Can you image Captain Finland or Captain Thailand? But somehow because it is America it works.

Oh. So now you believe the media critics over everyday folk?

“Audiences were more generous in their opinions. The “verified audience score” from Rotten Tomatoes was 80% and its CinemaScore was a B-“

It’ll make a profit. As the article states it’ll recoup its budget over opening weekend.

But as another poster mentioned, it’s nothing to get upset and start using all caps about. If ‘wokeism’ Is dead why still so upset over a movie. Just don’t watch it.

So are Disney still grooming kids or not? Make your mind up.

Not sure why you think so, read the comics, then you will know, Captain America is just fantastic, no giggling

I can't imagine anyone in any other country creating a similar superhero.

Most countries with the exception of the Japanese have character comics

Can you image Captain Finland or Captain Thailand? But somehow because it is America it works.

It sure does

As far as Disney is concerned, they had enough of fighting with DeSantis, now they are solely moving away from their progressive ideological nonsense that made them lose billions and they were losing badly. But now they see the light and are finally changing their ways.

Desantis achieved nothing. What are you on about?

now they are solely moving away from their progressive ideological nonsense that made them lose billions and they were losing badly.

The facts just don’t support your theory. I know why you have to fantasize about it, but it’s quite transparent.

But now they see the light and are finally changing their ways.

So this movie has nothing to do with wokeism? You must be overjoyed.

So thank you governor.

No, it happened, Igor realized it was hurting the brand, smart move.

So this movie has nothing to do with wokeism? You must be overjoyed.

It did, Universal didn’t allow it, and they were losing big time to them, so after that fight with DeSantis, they decide to throw in the towel and all is well again, at least getting there, and that’s a good thing.

Me, too. However, my reason is sometimes Captain America's uniform has a letter 'A' on his forehead. Yes it stands for 'America' but there is also a word which people always uses to insult others starts with the letter 'A', too.

I cannot help but laugh when I think about 'Captain Axxxxxe'.

Relax. It's just a movie. Besides, wokeism doesn't exist. It's a made up word.

https://the-numbers.com/news/258710830-Weekend-projections-Captain-America-lands-with-100-million-over-four-days-on-busy-weekend-in-theaters

Captain America: Brave New World is coming in a little ahead of our Friday-morning prediction, landing with $88.5 million over three days, and a projected $100 million over four, according to Disney this morning.

Here are the official studio projections for the three-day weekend:

Captain America: Brave New World -- Projected 3-day: $88.5M -- Predicted 3-day: $82.7M -- 107% over Prediction

Disney reports a $192.4 million global weekend for Brave New World, and point towards that figure being 4% better than The Winter Soldier. With a trimmed budget compared to previous Marvel outings (reportedly $180 million), and a more grounded approach to story-telling, this is something of a reset for the franchise.
