Man, I loved Bill Withers and just last week I was playing my Bill Withers CDs for my son because he enjoyed hearing "Lovely Day" from the Secret Life of Pers movie. "Grandma's Hand" is in my top 5 songs of all times. Rest in Peace Bill.

What a loss, but what a legacy he leaves behind! Bill Withers' music touched so many, directly and indirectly, and influenced so much.

I had the pleasure of seeing him a couple of times live and it was a treat. So much good music.

Just the other day, when the news was getting me down, I put on "Lovely Day" and just lifted my spirits. That was what his music could do. And did do.

One song that I think was so underrated but that has stuck with me all of these years is "Just The Two Of Us" with the legendary and long-ago departed Grover Washington Jr. Just a masterpiece.

Thank you for the music, Bill. Your music, which is your legacy to the world, will live on for years to come.

Lost Manu DiBango and Bill Withers in the same week. They were such a big part of the music scene in my childhood. RIP to both legends.

My faves: Lean on me, and Lovely day.

RIP. The man was and is a legend. I have to admit, shamefully, for the longest time I used to think "Ain't no Sunshine" was by Aaron Neville (I think he does a cover). Oops!

One song that I think was so underrated but that has stuck with me all of these years is "Just The Two Of Us" with the legendary and long-ago departed Grover Washington Jr. Just a masterpiece.

I remember that song from my teen years. One of my fave soul/jazz/pop/rock hits ever.

I also remember 'Lean On Me' and 'Use Me' as a child. On the fomer me and my little sister misheard the lyrics as 'Dino need' - as in Dino the dinosaur from the cartoon series 'The Flintstones'.

Both times I've seen Sting in concert he has covered 'Ain't No Sunshine', the second time it was with Peter Gabriel. It was terrific.

RIP BILL WITHERS

Grew up with his music and was surprised when he left the music industry.

Listening to his live album, recently. Such a performer and such a voice.
