Perhaps you don’t get the subtle humor. I found parts of it hilarious but to each his own.

Tina and Amy have gained some weight. Their thigh gap is almost gone. Two funny and very smart women.

I guess it depends on your style of humor. I thought it was very funny for the most part, but in a clever, witty way -- not the brainless humor of gakki no tsukai or the equivalent (granted, I like that, too, sometimes). That said, SOME of the jokes on Schitt's Creek were gag-worthy, but on the whole I'd say it was quite a funny show. It was also quite moving at times, so I can see why it might not sit in the same realm of comedy as your typical sitcom.
