The “awards” are meaningless.
I must say I was skeptical when I heard of the remake of “All Quiet…” but it is indeed a good film.

All Quiet... was a well done film. I also couldn't stop thinking of the parallels between Germany, who had invaded France and were clearly losing, but whose leaders were unwilling to admit so, and current day Russia, who is clearly losing in Ukraine, but refuse to admit so. In both cases, the price for such ego/stubbornness was paid by the soldiers on the ground, in horrific manner.
All Quiet... really shows the horror of WWI first hand. And while it wasn't entirely faithful to the book, a few of the more memorable scenes from the book made it into the movie, and I felt the way the movie ended was an good adaptation, that left me with much the same feeling as the book did.
I recommend this movie. I can't say it's good, because it's a nightmare of a horror, even more so knowing it's based on actual events, but it is extremely well done, and very impactful.

Russia is not losing. You are believing the western “news” which actually, to an unbiased eye, looks like the propaganda that it is.
